Bonner > Peasley

Post by splintorb » October 30th, 2021, 4:16 pm

I like Peasley as an athlete, but can we all agree that his decision making is worse than Bonner’s?

Boner played good today tough day for Peasley for sure trying to do too much with the ball in the 2nd half.

Yeah, I didn’t like the forcing, in those situations.

Like Scotty said, we don't beat Air Force without Peasley. No disrespect to him, BUT Bonner is the guy. More consistent and composed. Great showing from him today. Even when he did QB keeper he looked a lot quicker than usual.

I agree, Peasley won us that. But, he is too inconsistent for me.

Peasley will have his time as starter. It's just not yet.

It was a great win, but today showed me that Bonner deserves the start, which has been debated heavily on this board.

I don’t think he will. Bonner & Peasley are both Juniors. It honestly won’t surprise me one but for Peasley to transfer out after this season.

We just got to 6-2 and we spend our time taking a massive dump on the kid? Every mistake you act like he's the worst player ever and then wonder why he has no confidence.

Peasley has done some very good things this season. He has also made some mistakes

Can we enjoy a win with out shooting down our own guys?

Just once?

Let's let this play out and trust in Anderson. Peasley has lost his moxy, and as mentioned above, without him we lose the AFA game.

At this point it's on the coaching staff to figure out what can be done to fix the mental errors while keeping his aggression intact, AND keep him ready if Bonner (knock on wood), has an injury.

A lot of it could be Peasley trying to do things Bonner does well. Could it be possible Peasley just needs to become a master of his God given talents? Man can he run like almost no QB we've ever had. So much potential, let's not just dump it to waste. Anderson says he's the hardest worker on the team.

This isn’t a shooting down, this is a conversation on a fan forum board, where several posters have felt that Peasley should start. He has had a few good moments, but Bonner is way more consistent. Without Peasley’s big mistakes, they are what…17 points?

Peasley had a rough game yes but every qb has his day and today it was Bonners. Peasley is still an amazing athlete and brings a lot to the game if i were in his shoes i would probably be doin the same stuff. He probably believes he should be the starter as many of the fans do and when the guy that the coach brings with him gets the start its deflating. Then doin well while splitting time and bringing the team back in the AF game then turns out sittin the bench the majority of the last 3-4 games only being brought in a series maybe a game to make a difference in desparations moves or Bonner gets injured or acts hurt every time he gets hit it seems like. The 2nd half play was bad and i mean poor mental mistakes eitger throw it away or pitch it sooner. Either way a win is a win and i think Peasleys time will come. GO AGGIES

I honestly think Peasley is just trying too hard. He knows that his opportunities are limited right now and he wants to show that he has what it takes to be the guy. Trying to make every play a home run play leads to bad decisions. Simple as that.

Yep, tough game for Peasley today but he has won games for us too. We've needed both to be where we are right now.
I liked that BA went over, put his arms around him, and told him to pick his head up and let him know we are going to need him in the future.

Agree. That Air Force performance from him has potential to be legendary IF we go on to do something really special this year.

Peasley is a good QB. He only gets in for limited situations, then tries too hard to do something to make a splash. After a couple of bad drives, his confidence suffers and he tries too hard again.

Given some real experience to get his Moxie back, he will be a valuable asset. This is why several suggested that he get a possession each game to stay sharp.

Those who are dumping on him and saying he has blown his chance are shortsighted.

We have not seen the last of him.

I didn't get to see the 2nd half, but I thought his pass to Thompkins right before halftime was a beautiful throw. I think Thompkins kind of jumped for it but didn't need to and could have had a TD if he stayed up. (I am going to put up a preemptive disclaimer because someone will claim I am bashing Thompkins. I am not blaming him and I think Thompkins is awesome.)

There were 2-3 of those deep balls that the should have been picked/knocked down. Their safety and corners had trouble judging the ball.

I like the peas he's an aggie. I'll continue to enjoy having him play for us. Keep your head up kid. You forced it and you didn't need to. You'll get it done again if we need you.

Happy Bonner is here too. Great to have transfers get here and put it together

Yeah, I didn’t like the forcing, in those situations.
I was fine with the first play he is trying to throw it away and the guy made a good play. The 2nd one is on the coaches. You are in the 4th quarter up 19 points and we run an option play that was a terrible play call and terrible on Peasley as well. Peasley will come back and play better, to his defense he has not got much time the last several games.

Bonner is clearly the guy and is playing a lot better and making some good decisions. He also made some nice runs today.

I thought so to, but Thompkins and Wright are great at high pointing the balls and fighting for them. They also made good adjustments on the ball. Receivers were lights out today.

Peasley is much, much better than what he showed today, but I'm not exactly worried about starting Bonner over him at this point lol I'd still like to see a few more designed plays with Peasley every once in a while, today was definitely a fluke

Peasley gets some undue love on this board. He has a ways to go to be a starter in this league. We should be hoping for much better than Bonner and Peasley in the future.
