Paper Tiger
The Mountain West West.
After hearing how dreadful the Mountain side Division was, I’m going to have to call BS.
BSU spanking Fresneck. USU spanking SJSU and now tonight AFA beating down Nevada.
I have 0% confidence SDSU beats BSU the last game of the year.
Our only chance at winning the conference is winning out and that will result in a MWCG in Logan on Dec 4th because BSU will beat SDSU the last game of the year.
Those clamoring about how weak our side of the conference has been can STFU because they are simply wrong.
That is all.

I was about to post something similar. Mountain division definitely showing out as the season has progressed. I’ll also be surprised if SDSU can beat the Donks. Aggies need to hold serve!

Lol. Regardless of the AFA Nevada outcome I stand by my statement.
Those that feel what we say or what chair we sit in or what mug we drink out of affects the outcome of games….. I solute you for feeling so self important.

I pity those that don't respect the jinx. It's not the person that is important, it is the jinx itself. There is a cosmic power greater than any of us that loves to see anyone - regardless of race, religion, gender (identification), social/financial prowess, or Costco membership status - on messages boards look foolish. Just a theory.

What a game. AF is tough, glad we won that game. Aggies got a lot of pressure to hold serve tomorrow. Hope Blake has the team prepared.

Re: Paper Tiger
The theory was further validated when Washington State(for the sake of us looking better) is not even able to get up one touchdown on USC without someone excitedly posting about it, then Washington State gets a turnover deep in USC territory and we don't even let them score before posting about it, then they turn it back over and the game goes downhill. In contrast to, now five of their PAC-12 games, albeit one they were heavy favorites in against Arizona, they get leads, everyone shuts up and lets the game plays out, the game keeps going good for Wazzu.AGNUMPI wrote: ↑November 19th, 2021, 10:53 pmI pity those that don't respect the jinx. The jinx theory will REALLY be validated if Alabama games go downhill(from Alabama's point of view) after we post about them jumping on other teams early, saying that it doesn't look as bad for us that we did the same earlier.
Re: Paper Tiger
SDSU might not even beat UNLV this evening. SDSU leads by only one point early in the fourth quarter. If UNLV comes back to win, Fresno State will win the West division with either a win next week over SJSU or an SDSU loss to BSU.Sl7vk wrote: ↑November 19th, 2021, 9:42 pmThe Mountain West West.

The Aggies would host a three loss Fresno State if it gets to that point. It’s possible that Fresno could be 8-4 and play in the conference championship in Logan.

UNLV got bent over by the refs to end the game. I'm not saying they would have won, but they deserved a chance.

I hope you are right. I would love another home game. Not ready to be done yet. The season goes too fast. Don’t give a damn how cold it may or may not be. Bring it on.Sl7vk wrote: ↑November 19th, 2021, 9:42 pmThe Mountain West West.

Re: Paper Tiger
Yes, but it is still fair to say we got the weaker side of the other division. There is a reason we are 15-0 since joining the MW against SJSU, UNLV and Hawaii.

Re: Paper Tiger
No question. But if you read MW forums or listen to Mountain West wire, people have been making it sound like the worst thing that could happen in the world would be USU versus one of the West teams. Clamoring for a Fresneck or Nevada versus SDSU matchup as being the "peak" of our Division.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑November 20th, 2021, 11:19 amYes, but it is still fair to say we got the weaker side of the other division. I'm saying that is a pretty simplistic narrative, because what I'm seeing is a West that is 100% on par or maybe even lesser than the Mountain.
Both sides have 3 teams that are very solid and are equitable in terms of results. USU/AFA/BSU versus SDSU/Fresneck/Nevada. Each side has 3 teams that are below par or worst. CSU/Wyoming/NM versus SJSU/UNLV/Hawaii.
The last couple of big matchups between the two sides were BSU dominating Fresneck on the road last week, and AFA beating Nevada on the road this week.
I don't think for a minute that the West is any better than the Mountain, and I'm tired of people acting (some on this board) that a USU Division championship and MWCG appearance will be a let down for the league.

Despite their record, this is on of the best UNLV teams I’ve seen.
- I’m not saying the west is better than the mountain, but don’t underestimate SDSU. They will be a load for us in Dec.

Meh...not really. Anybody who has watched this team knows they've been punching above their weight all year. I don't consider that a paper tiger.

No one gets to complain about this season even if we lose to the Lobos next week and lose our bowl game. We won 8 games, collected a P5 scalp, avenged losses to Air Force, wrecked the defending conference champs, and played with heart to come back in the face of adversity multiple times.
And we did all of that with some serious personnel issues.

That is fair. Chalk it up to my typical post game overreaction. I am happy about this season, but Saturday was a very poor showing.

Well, SDSU opens as a 2.5 point home dog against Boise confirming the West is not best.
