Re: 2022 SIGNING DAY CENTRAL
I think Geo is pointing out that there is no Ken Moore Jr. on your list even though he announced his commitment back in April. Does his name missing mean he has decommited or is he still on board and the coaches just want him to greyshirt?aggies22 wrote: ↑December 14th, 2021, 5:06 pmThey want him to greyshirt.GeoAg wrote: ↑December 14th, 2021, 2:44 pmNo Ken Moore? They are hoping he'll grayshirt and not go elsewhere. I have not been able to get in contact with Ken to see where he stands.Aglicious wrote: ↑December 14th, 2021, 5:26 pmI think Geo is pointing out that there is no Ken Moore Jr. on your list even though he announced his commitment back in April. Re: 2022 SIGNING DAY CENTRAL
@aggies22 Do we have shot at Jonathan Thomas? Looks like he would be a huge help at LB, or is the coaching staff looking elsewhere like DB/WR with our remaining scholarships?

Re: 2022 SIGNING DAY CENTRAL
I think with the addition with MJ Tafisi we are probably set at LB. I was under the impression they wanted one more and MJ should be it. I think some WRs, a DE, and a DT are more likely.CacheAggie wrote: ↑December 15th, 2021, 3:07 pm@aggies22 Do we have shot at Jonathan Thomas? Sonny Makasini has flipped to BYU. I’m curious if we’ll actually see the other return missionaries on the list.

Re: 2022 SIGNING DAY CENTRAL
A question- Normally the second week of February is our big signing day. With the early signing day and the Transfer Portal
is there any recruiting left to do? Usually we lose one or two recruits and find a couple that have fallen thru the cracks in February. Also will we have any spots open if players become available after their schools spring ball. It has not been talked
about but do we have boosters or sponsors working name and likeness agreements to help pay some school expenses when
when a walk-on comes to USU.

From what I understand the final position on the recruiting wish list is a JuCo/Transfer offensive tackle. That's it.AGGIEFIGHT wrote: ↑January 24th, 2022, 2:54 pmA question- Normally the second week of February is our big signing day. With the early signing day and the Transfer Portal

There were a handful of recruits that signed in December but were not announced that will be announced next Wednesday. We don't really have any recruits to lose. The only non-walk-ons that haven't signed are Saco Alofipo, Kao Hansen, Malachi Keels, Jett Solomon, and Mapa Vaenuku. All the transfers, JuCo and guys from other schools have all signed and are already on campus. Tavian Coleman was even ALREADY here when he announced his commitment.
IF the coaching staff decided to add to the roster once spring ball ended there will be spots available for "push forwards". Rarely are we ever at the full 85 roster scholarship limit, so that leaves us room but once spring ball ends and summer rolls around there are always a handful or less that choose to try their luck playing elsewhere and that will open up some room as well.
As far as name and likeness goes, I don't think you'll see that happen much around here. Bishop Davenport just signed one for a company in the Houston area I believe. From what I understand, the athletic department believes that if donors chase the NLI stuff and give their money to certain kids, that they will not donate to the programs. NLI is not being actively pushed at Utah State right now.

Pretty sure he was asked to greyshirt and delay his enrollment and/or felt jerked around by the staff, so he chose Weber State instead.GeorgiaAggie wrote:Did he flip or did we pull the offer?

Hey 22, I don’t see Brian Cobbs on your signing day central page under mid-signing period recruits. Has he not signed or enrolled yet? Does he need to finish up at Maryland this semester then will sign in the summer? Thanks

I hope we don't always lose this many guys due to asking them to grayshirt. Hopefully this is an outlier year in that regard.

Maybe it is listed somewhere, but there are several threads so was not sure. Which players did we expect to sign, but decided not to?

Also, just wondering about the Migao brothers. Enoka is listed today in the USU signing day release as a HS signee but Elia is not. Any idea why? I thought both redshirted in 2021 but does this mean that only Elia was on scholarship?

Re: 2022 SIGNING DAY CENTRAL
Because they were unsure of the depth of the offensive line, Elia was able to receive a scholarship straight up in case he needed to play. Thanks so some quality depth on the defensive line, Enoka was able to blueshirt and have his scholarship pushed forward.

We have budget issues because we are required by federal law to offer unprofitable sports offerings as well. We also like to throw a few more unprofitable sports (tennis, golf, cross country) into the mix just for kicks and gigs.
The fact of the matter is that if the football team were a standalone entity, it would be a money maker.
