2023 Aggie Football Win-A-Thon ($225 per win pledged)

Post by treesap32 » August 30th, 2023, 7:50 am

Aggie fans,

For the last several years we have had success through this event in raising thousands of dollars for the Merlin Olsen Fund For Football Competitive Excellence.

For those not yet familiar with the Win-A-Thon, it started several years ago after I realized that consecutive bowl victories enticed me to want to contribute to the program's success leading me to make donations to the Merlin Olsen Fund at the end of each of those seasons. I figured it was the least I could do to help continue the winning tradition, and increase Utah State's ability to pay the salaries of their coaches and upgrade football facilities. The Aggie Football Win-A-Thon allows fans to pledge a certain amount for each victory throughout the year and rewards the coaches and team for their success on the field. Here's what it entails:

Each year Aggie fans will have the opportunity to pledge a certain dollar amount to the Merlin Olsen fund for each Aggie Victory throughout the season (including conference championship games, bowl games, or playoff games). Any dollar amount will be appreciated. No amount too small or too high. Pledges will be made publicly in this thread, and we will track the amount raised with each win on a Win-ometer at the bottom of this site. At the end of the year those who have made pledges will be reminded to donate directly to the Merlin Olsen Fund by visiting the Official USU Athletics Fundraising Website.

Here's a message about the creation and importance of this fund:

If anyone feels uncomfortable pledging publicly, feel free to contact me with your pledge and I will announce it as an anonymous pledge in this thread.

I'll start us off with $15 per win and some bonuses as seen below.

Who's with me!? How much is each Aggie Victory worth to you?

:utah: :state:

Pretty weak this year. I guess the economy is really hurting people.

It also might be that people are doing this directly through USU. They have a win-a-thon as well.

Anyone doing that can also post their pledge here if they want. It wouldn't be double dipping.

We're back to our winning ways with win #2 for the year. We're up to $175 per win so far. As ProvoAggie mentioned, any of you who have worked directly through USU, feel free to indicate it here and we'll add you to our numbers from our community. You'll be making the donation to the same place, so no double dipping.

Go Aggies!
