We will make LA Coliseum history this year

Post by GameFAQSAggie » April 8th, 2024, 8:09 am

In the over century history of the Coliseum, dating back to when OJ Simpson played and even before that, it's probably safe to say that there has probably never been a quarterback that beat them with some big plays including leading a game winning drive against them and THEN returned there as a team's FOURTH string quarterback, probably not even third string! Unless you count some of the opponents of the Rams while they played there who had a third string quarterback who had previously lead a college team to a win there!

Looking back, it seems like even we don't lose to quarterbacks and then have them return to Maverik/Romney as a fourth string quarterback. One scenario of it I can think of is we did lose to UNLV in the Guy years when they had a quarterback who would be moved to safety before the following season, so he maybe would have by then been their fourth option or maybe not even that.

You know with OJ Simpson, the more I learn about that guy, the more I don't care for him.

A fun fact that many may not know, when Ahmad and Felicia Rashad were married, Ahmad's best men were OJ Simpson and Bill Cosby.

I've never heard this? Do tell my Aggie brother! Was he recruited because of his winning attitude and killer personality?

A few years back I remember reading something about him almost being a Ute, but don’t remember ever hearing about him almost being an Aggie.

Coming out of JC, Utah was his best offer and then USC came in at the last minute. Something to that effect.

I'll bet he really would have chopped up the social scene in Salt Lake.

That would’ve been awesome! He’d have fit like a glove.

Hillstead leaving makes it so Barnes will likely now be #3. Probably still a first in history.

“Here’s my feeling about that. Everybody has their cross to bear. Those two guys’ crosses are pretty f—— heavy. I’m sure they knew a lot of people. Maybe you just didn’t know them as well as you thought you knew them. You just don’t know. I’m as devastated as everyone else with these two people. It’s like, holy s—.

“They were in chapters [of my life]. So were a lot of other people. They weren’t the main characters. I’m the main character in my own book. Those two things are just … maybe the most … oh, I can’t even describe it. It’s just … heartbreaking all around. And not so much for them, but the victims. It’s like, that’s f—— crazy. But like I said, that’s their cross.

“Yeah, I’ve seen that photo and the only people I see in it are me and my wife. I don’t see those two f—— guys. They’ve disappeared out of my memory. I’ve erased them out of my consciousness.”

I'll take a stab at this.

On the football field he could make one cut, then another, and another in rapid succession. He would leave one or two people on the ground with his cuts. OJ had a killer personality. His wit was very sharp and his humor could take their breath away.

True long story: I was once briefly in possession of a Football signed by OJ Simpson (before he murdered his wife, of course).

I'm generally someone that doesn't think players should lose awards for off field issues, but instead of crap like this, they should have stripped away his heisman and given Reggie his heisman back.

Board curse lives on. He will be second string now.
