Re: Chuckie Keeton now an NFL coach
Who would need to be gone for that to happen? He's obviously not coming back as an assistant while Blake is around. Would Bovee need to be gone gone, or just not be the AD for it to happen? Cantwell and Sabau weren't here yet at the time of his dismissal. Are there people like vice presidents in the university administration that were behind his removal that would need to be retired by then for him to come back as HC?

Re: Chuckie Keeton now an NFL coach
It has been a while and I don't know for sure if this is what it was, but I remember there was talk that he was dating one of the players adult sisters, and I guess that was frowned upon. So nothing illegal, nothing even gross, just something I guess that some of the players and coaches didn't like. Again, I have no sources other than remembering what others on this board said back when it happened, and I could be totally off base.

There is no mention of his time at USU in his bio or that he's a former college athlete. Odd? And he took a job at Montana State just 3 months earlier? Very odd. But good for him.rAggie wrote: ↑April 10th, 2024, 12:11 amhttps://www.seahawks.com/team/coaches-r ... kie-keeton

I don't think the coaches had an issue with it, but someone who complained about it sure had an issue with it, and when that happened, something was done about it.UStater wrote: ↑April 10th, 2024, 10:18 amIt has been a while and I don't know for sure if this is what it was, but I remember there was talk that he was dating one of the players adult sisters, and I guess that was frowned upon. Re: Chuckie Keeton now an NFL coach
I could see this. I don't see anything wrong with him dating another adult, but it could complicate the coach/player relationship and cause a distraction. Which would make sense for Blake and Co to mutually part ways.ViAggie wrote: ↑April 10th, 2024, 10:22 amI don't think the coaches had an issue with it, but someone who complained about it sure had an issue with it, and when that happened, something was done about it.UStater wrote: ↑April 10th, 2024, 10:18 amIt has been a while and I don't know for sure if this is what it was, but I remember there was talk that he was dating one of the players adult sisters, and I guess that was frowned upon. When BA is done (one way or another), we should get Chuckie.
Chuckie has connections with ex-Aggie coaches, NFL, Big Sky, and whatever connection that he made at Marshall.

I can't think of any linebacker the Chuckie thing costed us. Moa, if you want to call him really good based on his potential, left before the bowl game. The devastating one, AJV, left before the incident unfolded and it was cause of $$$.Forever-an-aggie wrote: ↑April 10th, 2024, 10:56 amIm a nobody, but from what I understand this incident cost us a really good linebacker to a school down southAggieUprising50 wrote: ↑April 10th, 2024, 10:31 amI could see this. As I pointed out earlier in this thread, it may not be a matter of when BA is gone but what instead may be the deal breaker is
Bovee still being around or certain university vice presidents or other administrators still being around.

Chuckie coached and been around all the ex-Aggie coaches, and I bet Chuckie would create excitement that leads to a bigger NIL.
Re: Chuckie Keeton now an NFL coach
Everyone is all for "cleaning up the AD" and loves a no nonsense approach until it's one of their own.
From every detail I've heard, USU was probably wise to part ways with Chuckie. He did something stupid that I'm sure he knows was wrong, and he was fired for it. I'm sure it's a learning experience and I hope he can work for USU again one day down the road.

Chuckie Keeton joined the Seahawks staff as offensive assistant on April 8, 2024. He was hired as quarterbacks coach at Montana State in January 2024 before moving on to Seattle, and spent the 2023 season as an offensive analyst at Marshall.
Keeton graduated from Utah State in 2016, then began his coaching career as a quality control coach working with quarterbacks at Oregon State later that year. He returned to Utah State in a similar capacity in 2018, and worked at Texas Tech in 2019 and 2020 as a graduate assistant. He returned to Utah State as running backs coach in 2021 before leaving for Marshall prior to the 2023 season.
Originally from Houston, Keeton earned first-team All-WAC honors in 2012 before battling injuries through much of the rest of his Utah State career. He set Utah State's all-time touchdown pass (62) and completion percentage (65.4) records, and finished in the top-five in completions (568), total offense (7,621), passing yards (6,387), and attempts (869) during his Aggies career. He also set or matched five single-season and eight single-game records.

Fascinating, I wonder why he's in town? Also, way way way off topic, but I had never heard of Calloway's before (I've never spent much time in Smithfield to be honest) so I looked up their website to check it out, this gave me a huge chuckle, this is not something you normally see on a restaurant menue, maybe in Utah???
