Expect to see a defensive end, a defensive tackle, and a cornerback in the next week.

That we will be unhappy about cause of them being needed players, or guys buried in the depth chart leaving for more playing time?

EJ Fisk came from a JC, and would be eligible to transfer.
Didn't we get Spires from Bowling Green and Mells from Oregon? Haven't they already used their 1 transfer?

Fisk was just a guess. Mells was an educated guess and Spires I just said because that would suck.utahcountyaggie wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 2:41 pmEJ Fisk came from a JC, and would be eligible to transfer.

As far as their transfers I think we’re back to the Wild West and they could leave if they wanted to.

You’re quite the prognosticator as Mells announced his portal entry this evening.Hoot wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 2:46 pmFisk was just a guess. I had an inside source on that one. I’m just surprised he didn’t enter when the portal first opened.greggers1868 wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 10:48 pmYou’re quite the prognosticator as Mells announced his portal entry this evening.Hoot wrote: ↑April 15th, 2024, 2:46 pmFisk was just a guess. Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
Mells hit the portal because of the seniority madness.
Last season, Mells was our best DT but had limited snaps.

Mells hit the portal because he was fourth on the depth chart and he wants to play more.

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
I think we could handle taking another guard for depth BUT I doubt he's looking to provide depth. We have sophomores George Maile and Tavo Motu'apuaka at the guard spots.

Last season, Mells should have been starting. He is probably fed up with it at this point.

Well this should be interesting. We have our board insider versus the board Nostradamus. Immovable object, meet unstoppable force. The physics are going to get really weird around here.

The whole reason he came to usu from Oregon was to play. Bummer it didn’t work out for him. I had high hopes when he first came in.

Another case of impatience. Three seniors in front of him with an opportunity for him to get into the rotation as a junior.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 8:26 amThe whole reason he came to usu from Oregon was to play. Bummer it didn’t work out for him. I had high hopes when he first came in.

Mells knows that the team moved in a different direction, so he moved on.

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
I think it's cute how many people on the board think they have a better idea than the coaches who see players in practice every day who should play in games.

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
I watched last year's team, and many on this board noticed what I noticed which was the fact that we played the wrong players. It was sad and bizarre.
The coaches should know those things, but they did not.

Sir Mells is one you are referring to. Do you have any other specific examples you can point to?

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
Take the DL as an example for wrong players
If you can stomach it, then watch how the DL did when Mells and/or Mosley Jr. were playing vs no Mosley Jr. and Mells.
The OL had the same kind of problem.
