Favorite Play
For some off season chatter, what's your all time favorite Aggie basketball play? Not necessarily the biggest or most important, but your favorite? Of course there are a ton of memories, I've been debating between a couple for my favorite personal memories:
1) Steve Thornton putback dunk against SUU (I think). He got way up there, seemed like he was above the square. Incredible to witness live.
2) Brian Green schooling New Mexico State. If I remember right, he got a steal, went behind the back a couple of times to get by streaking defenders, and ended up with the assist. I loved that guy and what he brought to the team and the spectrum, and it was fun seeing the shortest guy on the court absolutely school everyone was fun.

Sammy against SDSU. It hasn't lived long enough to entrench itself in my mind as an all-time great, but you're absolutely right.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑July 20th, 2021, 10:04 pmMy favorite moments:

Re: Favorite Play
Mine is Greg Grant stealing the ball from Byu’s Parrish and going in for a dunk with just a few seconds left in the game. That steal and subsequent dunk won the ball game by 1 point over our enemy! The student section front 4 rows where I was setting went absolutely nuts. I think it was 1985 or 1986!

Re: Favorite Play
For me, it will always be Tyler Newbold’s baseline jumper that rattled in to beat NMSU in the WAC semis. Capped a huge comeback against a very talented NMSU team.

Re: Favorite Play
I agree that was the biggest/most important play, but due to a series of issues, I wasn't able to watch it live, and part of it will always represent missed opportunities for me. Because of that, it's not my favorite (though I agree it's the biggest).

Also, this is a dunk that Brady Jardine had once that stretched the lead against Long Beach State to 30.

That's the one. I kept watching to see if I could spot the nose-picker, but I think he might be behind the post from the video angle.

If you would like to hear some heckling by yours truly, please tune into 4:07 of the above clip. It's not much, but it's all that came through in this broadcast, lol.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2021, 11:37 amThis is the second half of the game where Jardine had the infamous dunk.
FWIW, despite everyone shooting me very disappointed/angry glares, they were much more friendly than inebriated fans encountered in Reno and Laramie.

Re: Favorite Play
Bernard Rock hit a 3 vs Boise State in the second half that gave us the lead that would cap an undefeated big west season. That is the loaders I have heard the Spectrum.
In the Ohio State game everyone remembers Brown tying the game. My favorite from that game was Bobb’s dunk in OT. Knew we would win when that happened. Great steal and pass by Daniels to get the dunk.
