Re: I'm new...
Nobody here will respect you until you have 1000 +1 or TWSS posts. Or your could call someone slow.
At least that is how I think you get popular on this site.
In reality, the site rocks. Great site for articles, team info, opponent info.

You? No. You were only respected when you were not posting.

Re: I'm new...
Welcome aboard.
Great place to find information. Lots of opinions. You'll soon learn who to listen to and who not to. Some claim to know, when it is just their opinion. If you post, sadly, be prepared for anything to come at you (good, bad and the ugly). It's important to have thick skin and understand that the anonymity opens the door for attitudes, etc. There's a handful of us who know each other as real living persons and that makes this board less digital. If you get the chance, make some real contacts, it'll add meaning to the experience. There's my .02 worth.

Re: I'm new...
The following rule is an important one!! Even though it is normal to hate in state schools, so normal logic would suggest that you would enjoy any negativity or failure from those schools, there are so-called USU fans who are so in love with the schools down south that they hide their love affair by making accusations that you are in love with those schools if you post any of your enjoyment when in state schools fail. To summarize, be prepared to be accused of being in love with BYU or Utah if you even hint the thought of being pleased when they lose. It has never made any sense to me, so I thought I would educate you right away!!
Also, you can enhance the perception of your opinion by stating it as fact and telling everyone that they are stupid if they disagree with your "facts."
Last, sexual innuendos are very funny and always relevant. Since most sports require people to play with their balls, it is easy to make sexual jokes that are sports related.

Re: I'm new...
When we lose, people complain. When we win, people complain about the people who complain when we lose. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Also, anything positive will get you labeled a "cheerleader." Any negative or critical comment will be construed as calling for a coach to be fired.
Once you get used to the fact we're all over-reactive in our own ways and genuinely horrible people, I think you'll like this place quite a bit.

The greatest insult on this board is to tell someone they are acting like a BYU fan. Don't say anything like this unless you want to fight.

Re: I'm new...
Welcome. It's always great to meet another of the Aggie family. I don't post much so my first-hand experience is limited. However, I do come here several times a day and can share some observations.
Most of us (including myself) can be placed in Group A: we don't really know anything but enjoy everything related to USU. A very small portion of us are in Group B: they have intimate knowledge of the athletic department's inner working and/or do this for a living. A surprisingly large number of us are confused: they believe they're in Group B but are really in Group A.
If you you want everybody on this board to make fun of you, then say, "I know something, but it's a secret and I can't tell any of you." If you want everybody on this board and everybody on any MWC or WAC board to make fun of you, then say, "CHOOO CHOOO! I know something, but it's a secret and I can't tell any of you." If you want everybody you meet in life to make fun of you (real life or otherwise) then say, "My opinion is more important than yours because I have a PhD."

Re: I'm new...
It would help you to familiarize yourself with troutputz and what he's done for the football program. Ever since he appeased the ancients- the native Americans that once lived in Cache Valley- the program has become a winner. In 2011 he and his Shoshone friend did a native ritual at Romney, and then we left our old losing ways and started winning all the time. Last year before the byu game in Provo he did something at Cougar Stadium the night before the game. We won down there for the first time in forever. Then this year, Maverik is under construction and the ancients were disturbed. We almost lost to SUU. Troutputz and his Shoshone friend did their thing, and CSU and Boise happened.

Re: I'm new...
Welcome to the site. This one of the better message boards around and a lot of great stuff is put out of by fans of usu here (recruiting info, player research, stats, videos, etc). The chat room during games is a lot of fun as well. You can also find all future schedules and past videos of games on here as well. Our moderators do such a great job.BMurphB wrote:I am new to this website, I am not new to the Aggie Nation just to the website. I just wanted to get to know all of you and to get some newbie tips.

Also, make sure you have thick skin when sharing opinions. People will disagree with you and argue against it. It's a great time.
