Crazy how a game swings when you rely on shooting.

Kept waiting for TD to call a quick time out at the beginning of the second half to stop the Air Force run, and make a counter to Air Force half time adjustments. It never happened. Taylor could have had his way in the post he needed more touches.

Air Force is legit. I fully expect them to run the table in the tourney. After all we are little old "Utah State". What more can we expect?

The only consistent thing about this team is lack of coaching adjustments during the game when we start strong. The coaches let the team lose there mental focus and let AF dominant the 2nd half. This lose 100% on Timmy. After watching that terrible half I didn't care to listen to any list game so I how like hell Timmy takes responsibly for the lose.

I have a suspicion that if Tim was driving on I15 heading south to San Diego and accidentally turned onto I70, he'd end up in Baltimore rather than stopping to gather his bearings and make an adjustment.

Duryea is just getting his feet wet as a coach. Be nice to him.

Just saw box score. Looked like to’s and steals were the difference more than fg%. Bet there were some very untimely 3s also. Wrecking my snowmobile was more fun than watching an Aggie bball game wreck.

1st Half 59.3% (16-27) FG 3P 60% (9-15)

2nd Half 20.0% (6-30) FG 8.3% 3P (1-12)

Turnovers and steals didn’t help but we couldn’t throw it in the ocean in the second half. Two completely different teams. Baffling.

And Duryea was nowhere to found in the second half trying to stem the tide. Like a passive bystander. I’ve tried to give him every benefit of the doubt (injuries, seemingly incremental improvement, etc.) but there was no leadership, no effort or fire from him today. I think Tim lost me today. Very disappointing.

We had no business losing that game today after the way we started.

It appears he has no idea how to manage a game. Looks good when shots are going on and the defense is alive. When the wheels come off, he fails miserably.

Yeah it was just poking fun at a previous defense of Duryea.

Yeah it is poking fun at that Mets fan on here who screams bloody murder about people criticizing Duryea.
Screams bloody murder? Now that's a bit hyperbolic don't you think?

Seriously? Outcoached by a coach that just beat you with no JC transfers, no foreign students, no red-shirts and who made excellent adjustments between both halves. I'll take that 'the day after' a win!

He was being sarcastic! Most of us know that Duryea is the worst coach in the conference.

This is actually one of the few games I will put on the players. The game plan was obviously good enough to get them a big lead in the 1st half. 6-30, 12 TOs, 1 AST in the second half. Halftime adjustments are overrated in conference play. You've scouted each other multiple times during the season, coaches know each other's styles and habits, etc. You've seen many of the players for multiple years. I'll tell you the adjustments AF made - they watched our guys make careless turnovers and miss a ton of shots that went down in the first half. At some point, the players have to execute and show some toughness. They didn't do much of that in the second half.

My beef with the coaching was that he didn’t really do anything at all to stem the tide of momentum for AF. No leadership, no toughness on officials (there were a ton of poor calls), no time outs to calm everyone down, no taking control of his players, etc., etc. That’s all on Tim. As I said elsewhere, he looked like a passive bystander just watching (letting) things unfold.

I disagree. Duryea never called a timeout when AFA was coming back. He did nothing to try to inject any energy in the team. When Merrill is completely winded and no longer effective he didn't give him a break. The only reason McEwen sat at all was because of foul trouble. The team stopped making shots but Duryea sat their and watched it instead of trying to right the ship. That responsibility lies on the coach. If he would have changed some things up and still failed then it's on the players but he did nothing.

I'll take the blame for this loss. I forgot it was an early start time and I tuned in at halftime when we were up double digits. From the second I turned it on we played like complete and utter garbage.

It's my fault and I take full responsibility for that.

I once asked myself if I would be willing to never watch an Aggie sports again if it meant they won a national championship. As I ponder it now, I think I would be happy to do so. I would be willing to make that sacrifice for the benefit of all other Aggie fans.
