Maybe I missed it in one of the threads, but why did he not play Friday night?
I saw someone else state that he will miss the next month, but didn’t give a reason?

Coach's decision on the EOU game. The month reference started counting after the byu game, so hopefully he sees the court soon.

That's not a good sign. We need him on both ends of the floor.

Would rather have Coach Smith develop the culture he wants than lower his standards due to athletic ability. I trust Smith.

Coach just said it's academic issues and they should know his status with the team.

No, but I do want to review the work before it’s turned in, make sure it’s completed, and test review before the test. Then they should communicate with the teachers on a weekly basis to get assignment and test results. That is the purpose of our study halls.

I cannot comprehend how anyone could fail college courses with that level of hand holding. If it’s true that JK3 pissed away his eligibility, that’s really disappointing.

Agreed, disappointing on multiple levels. Certainly the player's fault, but there are support staff everywhere that’s supposed to help and oversee

I guess I just don’t know what that means. Who is “they”? The press? The team? The coaches?

Not good, apparently. Especially given the resources available as mentioned above. Argh.

A funny story related to this. I once went teaching with the missionaries and like they all do with everyone all the time, they asked if there was anything they could do for a girl. She told them to write her research paper for him. One of them was an LSU fan being from there, so I teased him by saying that where he was from, the football players get their papers written for them. I made sure he was OK with me saying that after we left, and he told me he had NO problem with it and thought it was funny cause it's probably true.

Sad to see guys squander their opportunities. These guys have all the extra help to get things completed and be successful, it is sad when it is wasted. It was cool last night to hear them talk about Porter and that he is only a sophomore, but will graduate in the spring with a Business Administration degree. He will have the chance to earn his masters before leaving USU and will be set up for good success.

Can attest that support staff did all that they could do. Ultimately the player/student has to submit the work and show up to class. If they do these simple things it is hard for them to fail. TK also had some issues that he has already worked though. Hence, his half game on the bench against Alabama St. Hopefully JK3 can work through it and get it together to stay on the team. First semester wake up call!

It's tough to get your $hit together when classes don't start until Monday.

How does it work? If he failed classes (I'm just assuming that he did) during the fall semester how can it be "fixed" during the spring semester? Does he just need to show he's taking school serious?

Maybe it's average GPA? Maybe he can make up missed work and update grades from last semester? Not sure.

Can we consult with Marvin Menzies and Dr. Boston? They have some expertise in resolving things like this.

It used to be if you got an "i" for incomplete you got do more work to change the grade to your final letter grade. This could happen if you missed something out of your control such as an event, sickness etc. not sure if it still works that way. My guess is he still has a shot if sitting on the bench, right?

Jeff Goodman just put up his mid year transfer list and JK3 is on it. Weird considering he was on the bench on Saturday. Wonder if this means he will have to go back to a JC?
