Is this the week the magic returns?

Post by ineptimusprime » February 23rd, 2019, 4:46 pm

Two quality opponents coming to the Spectrum this week coming off a thrilling OT road win.

If the team takes advantage of it, I think these two games have the potential to return us to the Spectrum of old.

Will it happen?

I hope so. My guess is we will be a little disappointed with the fans Tuesday but Saturday we will be great if the team plays well... so I guess my answer is kind of no. The old spectrum would be rockin even if we were down.

Whether we win or lose these games you would hope that the seed has been planted again. With Smith at helm these are different times vs last few Morrill and TD Years. We are in great basketball conference no more excuses

It depends if the students show up. There needs to be a massive marketing campaign for not only Saturday, but Tuesday to get the students out. Every time I see a game on TV at the Spectrum I am embarrassed by the empty seats. Even Marcus Saxon commented the other night about it. Time to get students to the game.

Students have been doing better, I'm embarrassed at how many empty seats there are throughout the Spectrum.

Aggie fans need to quit finding excuses and come watch the hottest team in Utah finish out the season!

Don’t know about the SDS game, but last time I heard, the Nevada game was almost sold out.

There are 33 tickets left for the Nevada game and they are all singles. Lot's left for SDSU.

It’s going to take longer than one season to get back to what it was. The past few years of Stew, followed to the least exciting hire in the country, followed by poor play and coaching did major damage to the casual fan base. I’m guessing season tickets will be up sharply next year, and attendance will improve. It just takes time to repair the damage of years of unimpressive results and low energy coaching.

It made me sad to hear both Sam and Smith having to ask fans to come out for Tuesday's game. There is no reason they should have to say anything. What more could fans want? Exciting brand of offense, energetic defense, future NBA center, local talent, international talent, conference title contention, and a coach who is as connected with the fans as I've ever seen a coach.

There are only 22 tickets left for the Nevada Reno game and they are all individual solo seats. Many hundreds left for SDSU, however. Come on CV, make the double header!

It is at no cost. They buy the discounted ticket
I pay for the free one
So. I have an offer to get tix at $10 each
So I give 100 seats after they buy another ticket
That’s 200 more people in the spectrum

Great idea Buck; let's hope you get a lot of support and fans take the seats.

It is sad. The players are begging on Twitter too. Hope it works but they shouldn’t have to do that.

I blame Barnes. He didn’t pressure Stew enough to improve or retire and hired you know who. It’s going to take time to repair that damage.

My wife and I will be making the drive for the first time this season for both games. We will also be taking my parents who used to be season ticket holders but have not been to a game in years! I am so excited! I believe the magic will be back! The Boise comeback was amazing! Go Aggies! :utah: :state:
