Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
They should be prepared to sell some standing-room only tickets. There is room by the band that is never used without seats, and I don't expect every season ticket holder to come or the students to use their entire allotment.

If the students don't start showing up, sell their seats.

There are 6 left now and there are actually 2 together in Section S. I wonder if these are season ticket holders that have returned their tickets that won't be used.

Looks like the two that were together are gone.ProvoAggie wrote:There are 6 left now and there are actually 2 together in Section S. I wonder if these are season ticket holders that have returned their tickets that won't be used.
If it was a case of season ticket holders returning their tickets because they can't make the game I'm glad they did.
I hate going to "sold out" games and seeing a lot of empty seats.

I just found out this afternoon that I'm able to go to the the Nevada game. StubHub has a few tickets but not many.

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
Per the USU your ticket office, they’re also anticipating selling some walk up tickets maybe up to 500. So tell people not to stay away because they can’t buy them online. There should be tickets available before the game. Just make sure you start getting there by 5:30 game starts at 6:30.
The athletic department may announce a sellout, but the ticket office should have tickets to sell (un-used student allotment, standing room by the band, etc.). 500 tickets at $25 would be worth = $12,500 -- no reason not to get the revenue.

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
I have some distain for ticket scalpers. I had seats below me that were always filled with someone who bought the tickets on the secondary market. I guess I would rather have USU make the money these scalpers are taking.Dkdavis wrote:Vivid Seats still has 231 tickets.
Side note. I’m almost sure the discounted tickets I purchased for the BYU game I. October were sold on the secondary market for less than their season ticket holders would pay. That is what I wouldn’t mind seeing USU do is undercut the secondary market prices. Take some of the profit from scalpers and make it less lucrative.

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
My pet peeve are the corporate buyers who don't use the tickets, except twice a year. Note - if you're a business getting Aggie tickets, make sure you give them to people that will use them every game.Full wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 4:45 pmI have some distain for ticket scalpers. Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
I brought a couple extra tickets today for SDSU game. While there I asked about tickets for the Nevada game. They said that it was sold out, but at game time they were going to sell tickets for any seats the students don't use.aggies22 wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 5:10 pmI know that bro but if the students aren't going to use them, yank them and sell them to the public.TheAKAggie wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 4:58 pmThere already paid foraggies22 wrote:If the students don't start showing up, sell their seats.

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
Years ago -- maybe during the Chuck Bell era, I believe it was approved at the University / Student level to sell some of the students seats if they either don't have a pattern of using them (no not talking about the CVE ticket area). So the ticket office will see how many students show up the San Diego St. game and early for the Nevada game and then make a decision if they are going to have a stand-by line for seats above the CVE area and upper corner. Great idea -- why leave money on the table.TheAKAggie wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 4:58 pmThere already paid foraggies22 wrote:If the students don't start showing up, sell their seats.

If the students will just show up 4,000 strong, then nothing to sell, but that hasn't happened for going on a decade.
Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
If anyone can't end up using your Nevada tickets, let me know. I have some out-of-staters interested in coming to town for the game. Let's get the Spec packed!

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
Just have them show up. There will be people selling tickets at the Spectrum or the ticket office will be selling maybe up to 500 stand-by tickets. Nothings worse then calling a "sellout" only to see hundreds of brightly colored seats unused. There's even some standing room only seats that could be sold next to the band -- BTW, bad idea to take those seats out. It shows badly on TV having that empty area next to the band in the middle of the student section -- put some of them back in.

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
Just because only 10,270 people can sit in the Spectrum (per fire marshal and code) doesn't mean that USU can't sell and announce more than 10,270 tickets sold and people in seats. In short, sell the same tickets twice if people don't come -- USU's fire codes aren't any different than most places and most stadiums sell standing-room only tickets.

Seems like so many additional rows were taken out than what are needed.
Would it be a bad idea to move the band to the top of that section?

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
No we don't. They are only there for half the home games anyway. Between Preseason, Thanksgiving, and Fall finals and Christmas break, the band probably is there about 10 games year. That blank concrete space looks terrible on TV and eliminates some of the best seats in the house. Bad idea whoever came up with that about 5 years ago - reverse it. It was just fine the way it was for 45 years before (since 1970).

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
freakboy once told us that at Michigan, they just count attendance by counting how many people are standing in the aisles.USUBlue wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 5:50 pmJust because only 10,270 people can sit in the Spectrum (per fire marshal and code) doesn't mean that USU can't sell and announce more than 10,270 tickets sold and people in seats. Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
I was thinking last game it would be nice if they moved the band somewhere else. I think a lot of the coordination is lost in the student section because there is a gap. - of course if there were more students / it was louder there wouldn't be an issue.usufan1 wrote:I have hated how that block of seats missing for the band looks.USUBlue wrote:Just have them show up. Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
The band has been there for almost 50 years -- it works just fine. BUT, they don't need the whole corner and about 8 rows -- ridiculous. Also, a little more energy from them would be great.sneed wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 9:27 pmI was thinking last game it would be nice if they moved the band somewhere else. Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
I remember the epic UNLV games of the ‘80s when people were sitting in the aisles and on top of the concrete walls at the top of the corner sections. The fire marshall cracked down after that but I agree that we should sell seats if people don’t show up.USUBlue wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 5:50 pmJust because only 10,270 people can sit in the Spectrum (per fire marshal and code) doesn't mean that USU can't sell and announce more than 10,270 tickets sold and people in seats. I love the way it is and think it should not be changed! It’s very unique. If they were to go to blue chairs, it should be for the whole arena though. Having bleachers would be ugly.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 10:28 pmI think the student section should be all bleachers and the rest of the spectrum should be remodeled with blue seats that are more spacious.TheAKAggie wrote: ↑February 25th, 2019, 10:13 pmStudent section should be all bleachers.

Re: By My Count -- 12 Tickets Remaining for Nevada Game
Word on the street is (3rd hand info) they have a spot for a new arena already in mind on 1400N and 800E area. We'll only know if that's true when reliable sources start to confirm that though.
Anyhow, I find it difficult to sit in the seats and I'm an average size 6' without girth issues yet. Mostly the knees bumping people in front of me.
Can't wait to see it full though. Its been a long time coming
