BTW, check out what happens at midcourt at the 1:56 mark of the HUDL video. Pretty funny stuff.

I thought I saw where he was rated as a 2 star recruit. I know that the New Mexico Lobo fans were hoping that he end up there https://thelobolair.com/community/recru ... st-1007278. His big brother Cameron I believe wasn't a high rated recruit, but look at what he did there along with a short stint in the NBA. I'm very excited about this recruit.

This is a huge pickup and we needed more at the Wing moving forward -- good shooter, athletic and long. Well done coaches. 1 super fast athletic PG with great handles would be my last wish for this recruiting class.

Bairstow committing is a big deal. Bairstow and Queta could be an awesome combo.

Aggies22, any reason Bairstow hasn’t been rated by 247? His video looks pretty impressive, and his NBA family pedigree is awesome.

I'm sure we'll see a rating for him pop up soon. I would imagine he'll rate out at a mid-3 star. But I don't really have an answer for what the hold up has been. I think we'll see Alphonso Anderson re-rated and earn a 3rd star as well.

Unless Bairstow comes in so prepared to play at this level that he demands immediate playing time or (heaven forbid) he is forced into action due to injuries to others, I can't imagine these two will ever be on the court together.

At this point I see Anderson & Grootfaam replacing Taylor & Brown at the 4 and Miller/Bean/sometimes Brito playing the 3. By the time Bairstow works his way into the lineup, Queta will be long gone.

I think Bairstow and McChesney will both be great players for us, but you might be right about it taking a few years to get a lot of time. Just depends on how good they actually are. Just watching film it seems both need to put on about 20 pounds.

Bean won’t be playing at the 3. He doesn’t have the ball skills or the shooting threat to play at the 3. He will continue to play at the 4.

I have no reason to believe so. I just specifically stated PG because that was the stated position of the rumored visitor.

How excited should we be about Bairstow? He may have good genes, but so does Crew Ainge. According to what I have read, the only other school showing interest was U C Riverside. That doesn’t impress me much.

Someone make me feel better about this guy.

Hey McAggies, Bairstow is going to be very good. Watch is game footage -- very good skills and toughness. He's the real deal; no worries there. I think it's going to be hard to not play him significant minutes even as a freshman - and we're a little thin at the wing. The other recruits Anderson and McChesney are more inside players, with good stretch skills.

For me at this point I think Coach Smith has earned my confidence in pretty much whatever he's doing. If he's excited about a guy, I will be too.

He does look pretty good. I guess I am still a little curious as to why nobody but us and Riverside wanted him. You would think if he were really really good, that UNM would have been interested.......or at least someone on the college basketball map.

He does look pretty good. I guess I am still a little curious as to why nobody but us and Riverside wanted him. You would think if he were really really good, that UNM would have been interested.......or at least someone on the college basketball map.
New Mexico was interested.

Well because he’s out of country is part of it. Look at Queta, he only had a couple of other suitors as well and he’s going to be an NBA player

If Bairstow ends up anywhere near as good as his brother I am all for it. I remember being at the MW Tourney and watching the older Bairstow eat it up. Looks like the cupboard is filling up!
