Bracketology
The bracket have completely shifted with us probably jumping to a projected 8 seed.
What is the highest seed have ever had?

Re: Bracketology
Since the seeding of teams began in 1978 the highest tournament seeding USU has received is #10, which was achieved in 1979, 1983 and 1988. We lost to the #11 seed in every instance by, respectively, 19, 5, and 3 points.

Lots of tweets from CBB analysts and reporters saying this locked up spot for USU. I think all Aggie fans won’t breath easy. Control what we can and that’s winning next team on schedule

Utah State Hey Aggies all the way! Go Aggies! Go Aggies! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Re: Bracketology
I just seen on CBS that there was a problem after the game. Apparently some students taunted and touched Nevada players and That security for the Nevada team was non-existent and they had to go up USU tunnel. I don’t know any details, but this could be problematic.

There were no issues on the court, students did not touch Nevada players, and security was well coordinated...now...what happened up the tunnel is another issue.Jjoey53 wrote:I just seen on CBS that there was a problem after the game. If we lose to CSU and lose our first tourney game I would be real worried.
Don’t think that happens but I’m not comfortable yet

I think it'll be locked up if we finish Colorado State next Saturday and win our first conference tourney game. A loss to Colorado State means we probably at least need to get to Final game.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2019, 11:10 pmLots of tweets from CBB analysts and reporters saying this locked up spot for USU. Is that the next number in the geometric sequence? Is there some kind of limit to how close the Aggies could come to beating the #11 seed?flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2019, 11:22 pmWell if we are a 10 seed, we will lose to the #11 seed by 2.71 this time.

I'm a little confused here, wouldn't we play the #7 seed if we're a #10 seed?dogie wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2019, 10:57 amIs that the next number in the geometric sequence? St. John's next game (their last regular season game) is against Xavier in Xavier's home court. I would guess that St. John's this one too.SLB wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2019, 11:47 amBubble watch

Ohio State is without their top player which is something to keep an eye on.

Nothing is a lock until they call our name. I thing we will need to beat CSU, and make it to the MWC championship game to be a lock.

Re: Bracketology
1. Either us or Nevada needs to win the MW tourney. Any one else wins, we’re NIT bound. This is being overlooked, but not a chance in hell they give three bids to the MW.jackmormon wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2019, 5:45 pmNothing is a lock until they call our name. 2. We need to beat CSU and win at least one in the MW tourney.
Then we’ll be a lock.
Right now, let’s just beat CSU and hang our first MW banner in the two marquee sports.

The tourney will take care of itself as long as we take care of our own business. This team is playing well and can't afford a hiccup.

Lunardi has moved us up to 11 vs. Villanova. Next up would be Kansas. He had us at 12 and I didn't expect to move up too much more. There just weren't enough "bad losses" in the right spots.

Re: Bracketology
I'll be shocked if we're anything lower than an 11. Based on past experience, I'll believe it when I see it when we're predicted with these higher seeds.

Re: Bracketology
Actually it’s the 9 seed in Salt Lake vs Syracuse, winner playing Gonzaga in round 3. Even though playing a 1 seed in the third round wouldn’t be ideal, I would love to play in Salt Lake.BigRedAggie wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2019, 10:15 amPalm has us as a #9 seed in Anaheim against Syracuse

Nothin like two final four teams from a year ago right of the gate. I would love a KU-USU second round game though if we could somehow take down Nova.

I love this bracket projected by "The Big Lead." It has us as an 11 seed in Tulsa, OK playing 6 seed Wofford. I am not saying they are not very good, as they have had a huge year, but Wofford comes from a mid major conference and is not as intimidating as most teams seeded 1 - 8 or so. Then, it has us playing Purdue, who would be the 3 seed, but still has 9 losses (assuming they win).

Re: Bracketology
Given the lsses sustained by some of the teams ahead of us we’ll be a solid 11 seed in most bracket predictions. If we can get to 27 wins (beat CSU plus 2 MWC tourney wins) I feel that we’re a lock. With 26 wins (beat CSU plus 1 MWC tourney win) I think it’s 50/50.
