False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
Re: False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
I just saw an ESPN notification about the Mountain West statement. They are saying that the issue wasn't with the court storming, so they seem to be correcting their coverage of the story.

Why is anyone surprised by this? ESPN has been dong hatchet jobs for the last 20 years.

Re: False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
They should make Michael Eaves issue the retraction. He was the first to start babbling about it.
Re: False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
We'll have to see if it is mentioned at all from now on. I'm interested to see what Stadium includes in the Nevada documentary from this whole thing.

Nothing that will implicate Nevada, I'll guarantee you that.Blue23 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2019, 6:16 pmWe'll have to see if it is mentioned at all from now on. I'm interested to see what Stadium includes in the Nevada documentary from this whole thing.

Doug Gotlieb who does national radio for fox sports got it right! He said today on his show that USU did a great job of protecting the players and coaches and commented on how Jordan Caroline just goes on a rampage.

Nice to know that there are objective people out there that don’t just run with any unsubstantiated rumor!Winning Team wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 3:45 pmDoug Gotlieb who does national radio for fox sports got it right! False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
I watched Tiki & Tierney on CBS Sports and they said the students did not cause anything, but, that one of USU’s assistant coaches started it by going down the handshake line sayin “F off” to everyone on Nevada.
Does anyone know either way if this is true?

False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
Sportscenter just had a decent segment that began with brief highlights of the win over Nevada and court storming, and then more or less summarized the press release stating that students were not to blame, etc.
I am surprised they went back to clarify the events from Saturday, I was certain they would let the story stand as is. Maybe I’ll be less cynical next time...
That said they did use the story as a lead in to highlights of Nevada’s win over AF with no mention of our win at CSU. In fairness the Nevada game was on ESPN2 so they are more likely to include it.

This seems the most likely to me. I could see a guy responding with this comment when the other team’s coaches snub you in the handshake line.NVAggie wrote:aggies22 source claims that Ragland only said "real classy".

Nevada coaches are saying he went down the line saying "F#$% you". Seems far fetched to me.

Re: False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
I think there’s a less than zero chance that happened. Maybe he dropped an F-bomb after one of them responded to his “real classy” comment. I could see that. But I really can’t imagine a coach saying that to coaches down the line.

But, they did say that Caroline is a "great kid". Truth mixed in with lies.
False Narrative being pushed on ESPN
The story about the F U business was also told on Tiki and Tierney yesterday. Someone who has twitter might send a correction to them.

SVP had a segment on the Aggies last night. Stanford Steve and SVP raved about Sam. They also had a lot of wager chatter about home dogs in March (Rams)bigwilly087 wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 12:54 amSportscenter just had a decent segment that began with brief highlights of the win over Nevada and court storming, and then more or less summarized the press release stating that students were not to blame, etc.

If there are any clips about this please post them. I make a concerted effort to not watch ESPN.

Is there any audio of this? Or was it too short to be worth while?bluegrouse wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 3:57 pmNice to know that there are objective people out there that don’t just run with any unsubstantiated rumor!Winning Team wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 3:45 pmDoug Gotlieb who does national radio for fox sports got it right! I would be interested in listening to it, but I wasn't tech-savy enough to find anything for it on-line.

It was short, I wish I hadn’t wasted my time fast forwarding through the podcast. But if you are so inclined just search Doug Gotlieb in your favorite podcast app (or just Doug Gotlieb Podcast” on google.Lightbringer wrote:Is there any audio of this?
