What’s taking so long???

If everything is as cut and dried as people are saying, why is it taking so long for the MW to say/do something??? It was reported somewhere that they would be announcing something today. It’s getting late.......

Personally, I think the league is trying to avoid disciplining its signature basketball program and they are hoping that if they just ignore it and continue to let Utah State take the heat that hopefully it will all just go away.

Unfortunately this is something that the conference has a history of. There was another incident after the SDSU game in 2017 when they were ranked that the conference ended up sweeping under the rug.

Then the university should get out ahead of the conference and save face. This isn't good for recruiting or our seeding potential.

So I guess a Cinderella team can’t also be a marquee team. Don’t punish a Nevada?::::::::but punish the 1st place team? That makes zero sense.

What happened to the TRUTH? The real story can be told and no damage done to anyone....except the media. People can take it the way they want to.

I don't think recruiting will suffer at all but I do agree, it could potentially damage our seeding.

Nevada sports network interviewed one of their own who filmed the incident

- lackadaisical security
- having Nevada walk up the tunnel to pass home team locker.
- Caroline is great kid who was fine heading to bus after and it’s unfortunate his name is getting trashed

Here is the statement from MWC:

The MW released a statement Monday afternoon stating:

"After a thorough investigation into the circumstances of Saturday night’s incident, which included a review of numerous video clips from various sources and the collection of written statements from multiple individuals, the Mountain West has concluded the situation was not caused by the court rush. There was a postgame management plan in place and it was executed successfully. Rather, inappropriate conduct by individuals from both programs in the postgame handshake line and subsequently in the locker room areas created the unfortunate circumstances. The Conference office has had multiple communications with both athletics directors and has shared the findings of its review. Each institution will be responsible for the determination and administration of what it deems appropriate disciplinary action for those involved. It must be made clear unsportsmanlike and unprofessional conduct is not acceptable and will not be tolerated."
