I’m quite confident 2-3 non seniors will be moving on, I’m not going to mention any names, we really need a couple new ball handlers that are able to create, Merrill cannot be the only one as it was proven tonight

I think replacing Quinn should be an even bigger priority. I felt like we only looked good when he was in.

That seems to be exactly what he was saying.

Porter only had 3 of our 21 turnovers, I don’t want to mention who had the most, but he doubled our point guard’s TOs

We can cut the deadweight and then go to the basketball player store and get some new players cause it's that easy.

We need some depth big time. Sam, Able, and Queta have to have some breaks.

I felt Quinn and Bean played well. Thought Brown could have had an impact being the guy in the middle of the zone instead of Sam

Amazed we had such a good year despite the depth issue. Tons of credit to smith and the players who did what they did despite a soft bench.

It would have been really nice if JKIII had gone to class.
He provided a lot of the spark we’ve been missing off the bench.

I agree with others that there’s a good chance that three guys whose last names start with A, F, and S are not on the roster next fall.

We didnt look outclassed against ASU earlier this year and even held our own against Houston.

We are in desperate need of a press-breaking/zone killing PG.

JK3 played well vs ASU, he probably would've helped a bit today as well.

We need another guard who can match up against longer/athletic teams. Bairstow looks like he can a bit, but a quick Juco guard would help a lot against those teams.

McChesney or Grootfam depending on the opponent.

Not sure McChesney will be strong enough when he fist gets here.

Yep. It’ll be interesting to see what changes there are to the roster this offseason. I’m hoping for a Juco PG/SG and a HS PG.

Just as things stand, I think Alphonso Anderson, McChesney, and Bairstow will be a talent upgrade to Brown and Taylor. We’ll be a little older, but still young next year too.

Have anyone have any info about Stall and Ainge?
Ainge did not play a single minute for the last 2 months, and will Stall return from his injury? Stall has been out almost all of his games with injuries since his junior year in high school.

Agreed. Hard to question anything Smith has done, but I would have liked to see Brown play a bit more last night.

I don't think Ainge will be on a scholarship next year. I have no insider info, just a feeling based on what's been said here. That doesn't mean he won't on the team, he could pay his own way. But that still leaves us with 13 scholarship players.

Seems like people don't want to spill the beans on Stall or maybe not even Stall knows if he can play. But you'd think someone would know if he was going to try to play again next year. If he is healthy, I'd take him. He moves pretty good and has a big body. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

I would like to get someone like R. Evans in here. There is a player that I just don't see ever getting anything other than garbage minutes that Evans could replace. I hate calling people deadweights or seeing guys lose their scholarships though.

I think we may have two scholarships to use, we really need a juco guard that can create and a juco or grad transfer big that can backup/replace Queta (NBA) as an inside presence especially on defense

Stall is the next tallest player after Queta. I'm sure the coaching staff will make the proper evaluation of him. If he is able to contribute, he will be on the team next season.

Norby still got a scholarship but was medically disqualified so his scholarship didn't count against our total. I am sure cutting him lose because he is hurt and cut scholarship would be great PR.

As of now we have 8 returning players on scholarship. Add in the redshirt of Grootfaam and Stall, that's 10. Anderson, McChesney, and Bairstow make 13.

I would think we keep one of Stall or Fakira. Not too much room left, maybe one more player?

Porter/Brito/TK (redshirt?)
Merrill/Miller
Miller/Brito/Bairstow/Anderson
Anderson/Grootfam/McChesney
Queta/Grootfam/Stall or Fakira

You could argue one of Porter or Miller could/should be coming off the bench in a perfect world. Seems like we need to fill the JK3 role with a combo/point guard who can give us more athleticism when we need it, even though Porter is surprisingly quick we were a bit overmatched at times with our starting lineup and Brito isn't a great option at PG, should be a 3rd PG probably. A Rayquan Evans type player would be a perfect fit, but he'd rather go play for a bottom tier Pac12 school it seems.

Just to piggyback off of your comment. Medical disqualifications happen all the time. The great news is the kid keeps a scholarship and for the sake our remaining competitive, the scholarship doesn't count against the overall numbers. The football team has two kids right now that are medically disqualified, Mason Tobeck and Tre Miller.
