Roster deadweight

We need to get rid of it.
I believe you will see some available scholarships soon .
I’m quite confident 2-3 non seniors will be moving on, I’m not going to mention any names, we really need a couple new ball handlers that are able to create, Merrill cannot be the only one as it was proven tonight
I am pretty sure he won’t be back next year.Chupamedia wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:30 pmI think replacing Quinn should be an even bigger priority. I felt like we only looked good when he was in.
I think the McChesney kid from Canada addresses that need.Chupamedia wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:30 pmI think replacing Quinn should be an even bigger priority. I felt like we only looked good when he was in.
That seems to be exactly what he was saying.ususports wrote:I am pretty sure he won’t be back next year.Chupamedia wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:30 pmI think replacing Quinn should be an even bigger priority. I felt like we only looked good when he was in.
I’m not referring to anyone that actually sees the floor.trevordude wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:36 pmWe can cut the deadweight and then go to the basketball player store and get some new players cause it's that easy.
It would have been really nice if JKIII had gone to class.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:54 pmAmazed we had such a good year despite the depth issue. Tons of credit to smith and the players who did what they did despite a soft bench.

He provided a lot of the spark we’ve been missing off the bench.
We didnt look outclassed against ASU earlier this year and even held our own against Houston.Blue42 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:47 pmHaving his speed would have been nice tonight.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:46 pmIt would have been really nice if JKIII had gone to class.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:54 pmAmazed we had such a good year despite the depth issue. JK3 played well vs ASU, he probably would've helped a bit today as well.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:48 pmWe didnt look outclassed against ASU earlier this year and even held our own against Houston.Blue42 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:47 pmHaving his speed would have been nice tonight.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:46 pmIt would have been really nice if JKIII had gone to class.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:54 pmAmazed we had such a good year despite the depth issue. McChesney or Grootfam depending on the opponent.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:32 pmI think the McChesney kid from Canada addresses that need.Chupamedia wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:30 pmI think replacing Quinn should be an even bigger priority. Yep. It’ll be interesting to see what changes there are to the roster this offseason. I’m hoping for a Juco PG/SG and a HS PG.MetsJetsAggies wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:57 pmJK3 played well vs ASU, he probably would've helped a bit today as well.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:48 pmWe didnt look outclassed against ASU earlier this year and even held our own against Houston.Blue42 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:47 pmHaving his speed would have been nice tonight.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:46 pmIt would have been really nice if JKIII had gone to class.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:54 pmAmazed we had such a good year despite the depth issue. We need another guard who can match up against longer/athletic teams. Bairstow looks like he can a bit, but a quick Juco guard would help a lot against those teams.
Agreed. Hard to question anything Smith has done, but I would have liked to see Brown play a bit more last night.letsbehonest wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:51 pmI felt Quinn and Bean played well. Thought Brown could have had an impact being the guy in the middle of the zone instead of Sam
I think we may have two scholarships to use, we really need a juco guard that can create and a juco or grad transfer big that can backup/replace Queta (NBA) as an inside presence especially on defenseBlitz79 wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2019, 10:19 amI don't think Ainge will be on a scholarship next year. I have no insider info, just a feeling based on what's been said here. That doesn't mean he won't on the team, he could pay his own way. But that still leaves us with 13 scholarship players.
Seems like people don't want to spill the beans on Stall or maybe not even Stall knows if he can play. But you'd think someone would know if he was going to try to play again next year. If he is healthy, I'd take him. He moves pretty good and has a big body. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
I would like to get someone like R. Evans in here. There is a player that I just don't see ever getting anything other than garbage minutes that Evans could replace. I hate calling people deadweights or seeing guys lose their scholarships though.

I agree with others that there’s a good chance that three guys whose last names start with A, F, and S are not on the roster next fall.
Yeah to me anything we get postitive from stall will be a bonus. He isnt someone i expect to ever contribute. If he does, awesome.
Just to piggyback off of your comment. Medical disqualifications happen all the time. The great news is the kid keeps a scholarship and for the sake our remaining competitive, the scholarship doesn't count against the overall numbers. The football team has two kids right now that are medically disqualified, Mason Tobeck and Tre Miller.garyismyhomeboy wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 5:10 pmNorby still got a scholarship but was medically disqualified so his scholarship didn't count against our total. I am sure cutting him lose because he is hurt and cut scholarship would be great PR.
