I saw Coach Smith slip Walt Perrin a $100 bill before the workout.
Just go the Arizona route and give Q 10g/month and eliminate the middle man.
That would only be about 4.2 bytes/second and I know internet in Logan is bad but I think we can get him better internet than that.
;)
I never got past the letter "C" in my education. :headscratch:
What's a Boise State grad doing on this board?

This mock draft has Queta going #29 to the Spurs.

The NBA Combine begins tomorrow and runs through Saturday. I'll know more after that.

It will be clear what is the decision for Queta.
The Jazz guy makes me think that Queta is returning.

It looks like the New Orleans Pelicans won the right to take Queta with the first overall pick in the draft.

Most people are saying if Queta comes back for one more year he could be a 2020 lottery pick -- I agree with this. But if that's the case, why wouldn't a team who likely won't have a shot at him in the lottery next year (Spurs, Warriors, Blazers, Bucks, etc... And yes, I know not all of them need a center) take him late first round and let him develop on their team or in the G League? These teams can afford to stash a guy like Nemi if they think he has a high ceiling down the road.

I've resigned myself to the fact that Queta is likely gone. It only takes one team to fall in love with him, and he seems like the type of player Popovich loves having.

I would like to see Quetta stick around and I think he is more likely to stay than go..There is one path an NBA team might consider. Drafting him in the second round then stashing him in Europe for a season or two. Queta gets to make some good dough and work on his game.

We don't see this happen as often as we used to. I'm not sure why.

Its because teams have the G league. There is no reason to send players to Europe when they can still be in your organization getting playing time. Even practicing with your NBA team throughout the season. They can even be called up and get playing time and then sent right back down. Storing someone in Europe doesn't help nearly that much.

Still think it would be in his best interest to come back for one more year. He would get a lot more money asa potential lottery pick as opposed to very late 1st or 2nd round.

They aren’t taking him with their 8th or 10th picks I wouldn’t think. Their next pick is #35 second round. So does he still go if thats where he thinks he lands?

Good question. I doubt he stays in if that’s his best offer.

they could leverage those to trade for assets and a later pick and pick him up

I would hope not. Indeed, I hope he returns unless he is a lottery pick -- which he won't be. Wishful thinking on my part.

If he can go first round then he should go. That will indicate that a team is interested in his development long term.

Any word on Klay Stall and his recovery? If healthy and Queta leaves I think he'll be in the running for the starting job.

When the King of Macedonia sent a message to Sparta that if he is forced to attack, he would kill them all, raze their farms, and enslave their wives and children. The Spartan response? "If."

If Queta remains in the draft, the coaching staff will try and bring in a grad transfer big man.

A grad transfer would expect immediate playing time so this tells me they see Karwowski in a back up role this year whether Queta stays or goes.

Again, seems odd considering the team needs versus having another ball handler / play maker on the roster.

The opinions on Queta are vastly different. ESPN still doesn't even have him in the top 100, and neither does NBADraft.net nor CBS Sports. Sports Illustrated who has been a huge fan of Queta has him going in the late first round. The Kevin O'Connor big board on the ringer has him as the 35th best prospect in the draft.

The athletic has him at 45. I find it stupid ESPN does not have him, after all he was invited to the NBA camp, which suggest he is at least in the top 60.

The combine invitees is not a definitive Top 60 list. Aside from those who pulled their names from the draft, many of the combine invitees from last year didn’t get drafted.

Not only that but Karwowski could redshirt IF the coaching staff felt they could get away with it.

All it takes is 1.
29 teams and every mock draft genius on the internet can think he’s a bum, but if one GM thinks he’s got a lot of potential, he’ll get drafted. It sounds like Atlanta might be that 1.

Karwowski's NCAA clock isn't real clear. He signed with Liberty University's 2015/16 class but it looks like he didn't enroll full time, maybe not at all. He doesn't show up again until the 2017/18 season at North Platte JC. If he didn't enroll anywhere full time before JC his clock should give him 3 to play 2 which would make a rs available. Unless he played some ball in Europe during the two missing years, which could cost him a year. Do you know more about that?

It's not whether he gets drafted in the first round or not. It's whether he thinks he's going to get drafted high enough that he wants to stay in the draft. If he stays in the draft and doesn't get drafted (or gets drafted only in the second round), he has lost the ability to return to USU at that point. So the question is whether one or more teams will be willing to tell him that if he stays in the draft, they will guarantee him they will use their first round pick on him.

If he and his agent determine it is unlikely he will get drafted in the 1st round or maybe even the 2nd round this year, what are his best options for improving and increasing his draft stock for next year’s draft? My vote is USU but does the G-league, Europe, or elsewhere offer higher probability? I haven’t seen any data on the topic and I assume there are many factors to consider.
