Scrimmage on Saturday

Will we hear any more this year on the "closed scrimmage" this year? We play at Northern Colorado on Saturday, right? It would sure be nice to hear something!

The problem is, the scrimmage will be so scarcely attended that it would be easy to figure out who puts things on a message board that may not be ready for fan consumption. As has been speculated, the board is monitored by staffers of hoops and football.

Can someone who knows something -- a scarce commodity on this forum -- explain to me why the scrimmages have to be completely hush-hush? What harm is the NCAA preventing by treating these scrimmages like the witness protection program?

Have we ever hosted one of these scrimmages or have we always played them on the road? It seems like the “bigger” program typically hosts them so why are we going to Greeley?

The narrative is nobody wants to come to Logan. Apparently it’s true regardless of crowd size.

Lol. There are actually some similarities between Cache Valley and Greeley.
- Populations just over 100k
- Both are about an hour from an international airport
- Both have large JBS meat processing plants

In all other categories Logan is better.
I wonder if Coach Smith just wants to give the team some travel experience. Or maybe it’s an agreement where they will come to Logan next year.

Maybe in an underground bunker somewhere along 1-80 in Wyoming betweeen Logan and Greeley....

I see no reason why he wouldn’t wear his brace for the entire season just as a precaution.

Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated knee cap (as I understand it, the same injury suffered by Quetta). They say he will miss 4 to 6 weeks of football. Based upon that it is safe to assume there was more damage to Queta’s knee than just a dislocated knee cap. I guess the question is: when do they expect Queta to return to full practice mode? If not soon, the pre season (non conference) anticipated wins are in serious doubt. I am still puzzled by the absence of concrete information on his injury. Maybe the staff is in a wait and see situation. I know we are all hoping for the best for Neemias and his complete REcovery.

It’s interesting to note the following from today’s Trib article: “Sophomore Center Neemias Queta, who appears to have fully recovered from an offseason knee injury, was a preseason all-league selection along with Merrill.”

Was he guessing? If not, who fed him the info? I’ve never seen a dearth of information on an Aggie injury like I’ve witnessed with Neemias.
