Bean
Lookin’ good in that face mask with the broken nose. It got me thinking, who else has worn one of those? Help my failing memory, I remember Tai Wesley wearing one and I know there have been more but I can’t remember who

Re: Bean
His brother posted on twitter he had surgery last night for two broken bones in his face. He took a shot to the face in the second half and spent time adjusting it, not sure if that’s what broke the bones.

Re: Bean
Must have been either at the very end of the game if he took a shot. I never saw him flinch, react, or act in any way like he'd been hit. The mask is designed to protect against that. Otherwise, I think the surgery was scheduled this way. They usually let the swelling go down a little from the date the injury occurs, so that the recovery from it isn't so dramatic.

Re: Bean
This surgery was for a new injury...not the broken nose. They believe it occurred in the first half when he got hit across the face. The surgery was to repair a fracture and stabilize a couple teeth. He is hoping to play on Friday.

Re: Bean
So he wears a face mask to protect a broken nose and instead ends up getting more broken bones in his face even through the face mask? Either that mask sucks at doing its job or it worked as an aid in breaking the facial bones.

Re: Bean
Bean is one tough cookie and really good glue guy. He played really well. When he went out with his 4th foul we struggled more. Had he been able to play more in the 2nd half we probably would have extended our lead a little more.

Wow. Breaking his face once wasn't enough, so now he's DOUBLED DOWN!?!?Floppy Hat wrote: ↑November 7th, 2019, 10:08 amThis surgery was for a new injury...not the broken nose. Re: Bean
First watching Bean play last year seemed a lot like watching Brady Jardine when he first started. Energetic, a little raw, aggressive, diving for loose balls, physical. Now the mask.
Am I the only who thinks this? Did anyone else think that freshman Bean was a lot like freshman Brady?

Re: Bean
Another tweet from a family member says he’ll likely be cleared for tomorrow’s game.
He’s certainly come a long way from several people on the board a year ago thinking he’s a scrub who didn’t deserve playing time.

Last year all the people that sat by me at the Spectrum called him Brady Jr. So yes others think the same way as you.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑November 7th, 2019, 11:30 amFirst watching Bean play last year seemed a lot like watching Brady Jardine when he first started. Re: Bean
One of my all-time favorite Aggie memories was being in that tiny excuse of a gym in Moraga when we played St. Mary's in '11. I lost my mind when Jardine had his monster dunk. Then a picture of the wreckage was my FB profile pic for weeks.
I can only hope Bean does the same.

Re: Bean
There was a whistle before a MSU foul shot that turned into a timeout, Bean was sent to the bench by the ref, I guessed at the time bleeding, not TWO BROKEN TEETH REQUIRING SURGERY.

Re: Bean
My sources tell me Bean took an elbow to the mouth at around 12:50 left in the first half. It fractured the bone that holds his top teeth and almost knocked a couple of teeth out. The coaches didn't realize the severity of the injury until after the game. He had emergency surgery to put in a bracket to hold the teeth in place. Sounds painful!
Bean was limited to no contact in practice at least Wednesday, but should hopefully be good to go for tonight's game. Fingers crossed (and face guard on).

Re: Bean
If our football team is a blue collar program our basketball team is a facemask program! I would not be surprized if Newbold or Nate Harris wore a mask. Although I do not specifically remember it, it is not difficult for me to imagine either of them wearing one, especially Tyler Newbold.

I think I remember Stew wearing one on the sideline while coaching.
