Wow
89-34
Final score against Weber State
Great play all around especially the defense.
It was so one-sided that one ref was calling pity fouls to help Weber State.
The only bad was the 3-point shooting has been cold.
Bean was the best player of the game. The dunk and 1 by Bean should be a SC top 10 play.
Dorius has room to improve.

Re: Wow
This was an elite performance by the team tonight. So many improvements from the first game. It's going to be a fun season.

Re: Wow
So glad we squeaked out the Montana State game. That would haunt us big time had we lost. I think it will help us in the long term as it opened our eyes a bit and what we should not do. That game and tonights game were complete opposites.

Re: Wow
Weber State was a proud program. Tonight was a complete beat down. I’m so glad that we didn’t hire Rahe. He’s run that program into the ground.

Re: Wow
That was as impressive of a victory as I've seen since we took it to Paul George and Fresno years ago. Kuba looked very good, much more confident and moving well. Dorius still impressed me for a 3rd stringer.

Shout out to Brock Miller! He hit some great shots, although some were a bit questionable but I thought he played great! Bean was lights out. His energy is a huge key for this team!

Yes, by more than double. Previously, 26 was our largest margin of victory. We did that twice, in 1975 and in 2008.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑November 8th, 2019, 10:06 pmIs that or biggest margin of victory ever over Weber?

Re: Wow
Miller finished 5-12, but made his last three to save the start line. If Miller isn’t careful he’ll keep shooting his way out of the lineup by guys that can knock it down.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote:Shout out to Brock Miller! Re: Wow
We said this last year too. He's definitely streaky but he's probably our best pure shooter and can shoot over just about anyone with the lift he gets on his shot (which was much needed against teams like Washington last year who hounded Sam and were too long/athletic for anyone else to get a shot off easily) Anyone who can shoot 36%+ from 3 over a large sample should have the green lightdyedblue wrote: ↑November 8th, 2019, 10:37 pmMiller finished 5-12, but made his last three to save the start line. Re: Wow
The problem with that highlight is that it doesn't show what he did at the other end of the court leading up to that play. Great defense, defensive rebound, ended up on the floor, got up and ran 94 feet for the follow-up dunk. Great sequence by Bean. He absolutely gets the GATA belt every game. Probably should have a second one made up for the GATA runner-up each game.

Agreed, however, we were competing with 2 valley high schools hosting quarterfinal football games and the Globetrotters at Ridgeline high school.swordsman1989 wrote: ↑November 9th, 2019, 12:57 amThere were a lot of empty seats for a top 20 team playing against an in-state rival from less than an hours drive away.

It was a solid crowd and an energetic one at that. Coach Smith has been happy with the atmosphere this year. I have enjoyed going to both games this year.

Re: Wow
This was one the best hustle plays i have seen. Bean has always given hustle but he has also improved his offensive game from last year. He truly is a gem to watch.ChicAggie wrote: ↑November 8th, 2019, 11:52 pmThe problem with that highlight is that it doesn't show what he did at the other end of the court leading up to that play. Re: Wow
At Aggie Madness in the 3 point contest against Anderson he missed his first shot and then made the next 14.MetsJetsAggies wrote:We said this last year too. Re: Wow
The problem is that 70% of his shots since last February have been threes. I was happy to see his little half hook in the lane last night.

Re: Wow
He sits 30% and is one dimensional. Look at the Washington game last year and look at what Weber did on Merrill last night when Miller was in. Merrill effectively gets double teamed because Miller won’t do anything but jack up threes. I’ll take my chances with him shooting 30% out there if I’m an opposing coach.

Re: Wow
But it's a different story if he's hitting 40% of his threes. I think THAT is what our coaching staff expects out of him. Not sure if it's realistic given his streaky shooting last season, but he certainly has the stroke and form to get there.dyedblue wrote: ↑November 9th, 2019, 10:08 amHe sits 30% and is one dimensional.
