St Mary lost at home to Winthrop?

Post by WAAggie » November 12th, 2019, 10:20 am

Surprised to see that on the score ticker. Too bad. We need our opponents to be the best they can so our wins look better.

Winthrop is loaded this year...they are now playing 5 man basketball.

Really bad loss. St Mary's was an 18.5 point favorite.

That is what our Montana State game could have been to us....glad we were able to pull it out and still get the win. Avoiding bad losses last year really helped us come tourney seeding time.

Fresno State had just barely beaten Winthrop a couple of games before that too.

There has been a lot of talk on this board about st Mary’s. I know they return quite a few good players including a guard that is very good. Does anyone have further insight on why they might challenge Gonzaga this year?

They beat them to win the WCC tournament last season, and Gonzaga won't be as good this year

Winthrop usually is top 3 in Big South, they are a solid program.

LOLZ 5 man BB, is that a thing? I've heard of 6, 7 and 8 man FB, but 5 man BB?
