Around College Basketball (Ranked Team Watch)

Post by SLB » November 27th, 2019, 7:58 am

#4 Kansas vs Dayton
Dayton is very good and could beat Kansas.
Oregon vs Seton Hall
Two teams ranked ahead of us facing each other.
UCLA vs #3 Michigan State
UCLA could pull the upset considering both have about the same record.
Other games to keep an eye on
CSU vs Washington State
Winnable game for CSU
BYU vs VT
BYU could upset VT.

UCLA isn't capable of pulling an upset. If they do it would be an outright miracle.
MSU is the #3 team in the country. UCLA has lost to a weak BYU team (who will get much better when Childs joins them), and also lost to Hofstra. Excuse me, but no upset there.

BYU is holding their own so far, but I think the announcers are blasted. I was watching the game and it was painful to listen to the announcers. I think Bill Walton is drunk. Random crap and off the wall comments.

If you had to get on your knees and a give BYU some oration, wouldn't you need to imbibe as well? I mean, he probably wakes up every day regretting everything that's brought him to this point in time. His liver must be shot.

byu has made something like 16 3s, shooting over 50%. If we let them get hot like tonight it wont matter what else we do.

As much as I hate to say it, BYU will be a very tough game. We’re not likely to cruise to an easy victory.

After last year, I'd hope no one on the team thinks we will cruise to an easy victory. They are a solid team, a team we are better than and should beat, but it will be a close/hard fought game. Hoping we have a healthy Queta back to counter them getting Childs back by then

I want to say they stink. But wins against va tech, UCLA and a road win against Houston say otherwise. All those teams seem to be down this year compared to previous years. But they did this without their best player. I think they are going to be very good and will be a great game between the usu and BYU.

I tuned in to the BYU-Provo game for 5 minutes after the Lakers/Pelicans game to get an idea of who they are before we play them. They must really confuse teams when they come out and ball it up against 18-19 year old black dudes. They look like the group of 30 something year old dads that play pickup ball at the stake center before work twice a week. I hope to god we don't lose to that team.

*Edited to clarify which BYU school I was referring to.

The coach at BYU has crushed but the philosophy has not. They seem to love and die BYU the three. It will be interesting to see if Pope will use a big like Childs or just have him shag rebounds. I

BYU being good only helps USU whether we win that game or not. I'd rather play a good BYU team. The days of feeling good about padding up a bunch of wins against nobodies and bad teams are over.

We could play one of the top out of conference schedules in the country. I just want to pad up our win column against a bad byu team every year. Is mediocrity from that school too much to ask?

Could be #15 as well. With all these upsets, I think voters are looking at who to kick out of the top 25 to put these teams with large upsets into the top 25. We lose and I think we probably drop out of the rankings. Not a bad thing but not a good thing either.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re next. Please prove me wrong, team!

We’re not going undefeated, so we might as well have those losses be to good teams like St Mary’s

Serious question. Better to pound St. Mary's and then lose to SJSU, or lose to St. Mary's and pound SJSU? I pick pound St. Mary's. So I think better loss is to SJSU. My sense is selection committee would agree with me. But who the crap knows.

#12 Texas Tech loses to Iowa! And another unbeaten goes down.

Also I just counted and there are 26 teams who are undefeated, including us. Number will probably lower even more by end of tonight.

San Diego state putting the beat down on Creighton. I think there is the chance they could be ranked most of the year.

I agree. They might be unbeaten when they come to Logan if they can beat Iowa
