NET Rating Tracker

Provo / Sap,

Just noticed that the dates for the Aggies' games (and likely other teams) is off by a day. For example, it shows us playing UNLV tomorrow and SDSU on Sunday. My guess is it's a Y2.02K bug.

Thanks it appears that it was a mobile only problem based on the Date/Time that we get from ESPN. I was adjusting the dates for the desktop view but not mobile.

I have been meaning to ask. Does this website do anything that the Warren Nolan site does not do? I love that site.

We have the NET Bracket but other than that it's just about the way that data is presented. We wanted to make it easy for the casual fan to see Quad breakdowns in an easy to look at format. We weren't aware of that site before building ours but we've seen it a few times since. It's all pretty much the same data (he actually offers a bit more) in a different format.

Warrennolan website has the NET but really focuses on RPI for predictions. It also seems to have NET numbers that differ from what’s on your website. If at all possible a projection tool would be really awesome for NET. I know the formula isn’t exactly known but I think there are some formulas out there that are pretty close. Anyway, thanks for the website and hard work. I enjoy it.

I don't believe that he updates the NET everyday. It looks like he currently has rankings from a couple of days ago. He also doesn't do the trend graphs or have a full history. It looks like he has 1 NET ranking for each week for each team. Hopefully NET Projection comes in the future but I'm leaving it to some smarter people.

It's not always about being unique, sometimes it's about being better. Bracketologists is better.

At 73 now.
UNLV @ 166.
Hopefully UNLV will win enough conference games to move up to make this a Q2 loss instead of Q3.

We've added KenPom, BPI and Sagarin to Bracketologists now and also have an NCAA Team Sheet view for each team that put's the games into columns under the quadrants.

UNLV is now at 163 after beating us. To be a Q2 game they need to get to 135 I believe. I think they will end the season up that high at least and will improve the way our resume looks. Also by them climbing we will climb back up. Them being in the 200’s really hurt us but it will balance out. Hopefully they can pull an upset against SDSU and really shoot up again. SDSU can take a few losses and still be in the Q1 territory.

Wisconsin gets a big win over #3 NET Ohio State. New Mexico and St Mary’s both bra Wisconsin. Should give both of them a good boost.

Does a win today vs SDSU get us back up close to 50?

It should. It would probably also drop them to about 20. Ohio State fell from 3 to 10 today.

That's impossible. I have it on good authority that the Aztecs will be #1 the rest of the season. They will be the #1 overall seed in the tournament. NET is all that matters.

Ya’ll jinxed it with your “perfect day” nonsense. Florida getting absolutely shellacked at home by Alabama.

Florida looking like a Q3 win waiting to happen!

Florida has it down to 6 with 8mins remaining. Starting to heat up from deep but Blackshear has 4 fouls.

Now we just need to work or our NET the rest of the season. Rest guys any way we can after getting the 10 point margin locked in for those games that we can do that in, then play the rest of our games to minimize loss margins., especially on the road. We are not the team we could have been this year, but we can still get healthy, get to the tourney, and show out a bit in March.

Interestingly, someone here or elsewhere pointed out that last night was likely SDSUs last NET Q1 game until the MW Tourney or NCAAs. They are likely to fall the rest of the season unless conference members' victory cards fall just so. This also means that we may only have 1 more Q1 game, at SDSU.

Aggies All The Way!

I really shouldn’t resurrect this thread until the Aggies win three or four games in a row, but the Air Force loss didn’t punish them in the NET rankings as much as I would have guessed.

They dropped from 73 to 91 immediately after the loss and they are now at 87.

The pair of SEC victories are looking better by the day. Florida is at 39 and LSU is at 25. At this point, the best MWC victories this year are those two and SDSU’s victories over Creighton (32) and at BYU (33) and UNM over Wisconsin (29).
