Ouch. That really hurts them and unfortunately us as well. Hopefully they can get some more big wins from here on out and avoid these types of slip ups.

ETS is currently ranked 72 in the NET. A quad 2 home loss for LSU, but definitely not a ‘bad’ one unless ETS begins to fall. On the other hand, a loss last night to USF, currently ranked 154, would’ve been a quad 3 loss for us and no bueno for the ol’ resume.

10-2 with one of those losses to Kansas.

They were sub 100 until they beat LSU.

Had USF beaten Utah State they would've vaulted up probably 30 spots or so, but you're right, it still would've been a pretty bad loss.

I should have looked into ETS a little closer before I posted what I did. I was reacting to a headline about LSU losing a “buy game” at home and didn’t know they were substantially better than I had supposed. Name bias at work. My bad.

You really fowled that up.

Honestly, I'm glad I wasn't the only one. And I'm more glad that others were able to hop in and provide correct info.

Annnnnnddd they lose again to USC at the Staples Center in a game they should have won. We need our marquee wins to actually be marquee. The NET isn’t liking us as much this year for some reason.

LSU is pro at pissing away leads.

It's because our SOS is really really bad and LSU and Florida are under-performing.

They're either under performing or we're not all as good as we thought compared to everyone else. Give LSU and Florida some time to win SEC games and all of a sudden, Voila! They're world beaters after that! :sarcasm:

Sarcasm or not, I actually fully expect Florida and LSU to move up now that we're coming in to conference play. Their SOS will increase dramatically and if they win a good portion of games they'll both be Q1 wins for us.

All but 2 teams in the SEC have top 100 net rankings currently. Once conference play starts that won’t change much, just redistributing around the numbers. Almost every win they get will be Q1 or Q2 in conference. That will boost them really well for us.

I agree. I think all they need to do is be over .500 in conference play and they'll move up enough to be Q1 wins for us.
