Is Justin Freaking Bean Our MVP?
Coming into this season, any right minded basketball fan would have told you the team MVP for the season would be Merrill or possibly a healthy Queta. But after 16 games, here are the numbers that matter:
Player..............MP.....PER......ORtg.....DRtg.....NetRtg.....WS/40.... +/- ..... PTS/100.....TS%
Bean...............474.....30.3.....127.4....81.8........45.6........ .305.....11.9.........27.1.......... .576
Merrill.............475.....21.1.....124.1....90.6........33.5........ .245......6.0..........28.6.......... .584
Queta...............72......24.1.....120.5....89.2........31.3....... .247......5.1...........27.5......... .685
Brito...............435......15.5.....106.3....85.8........20.5...... .174......5.0............18.6........ .493
Anderson.......387......19.5.....108.1....86.9........21.2...... .195......4.5............26.9........ .591
Karwowski....128.......25.1.....124.3....80.2........44.1...... .247.....13.7...........16.8....... .667
Miller.............455.......10.8......101.8....93.3.........8.5....... .127.....1.4.............20.3....... .497
Porter............449.......11.7......108.4....92.3.......16.1....... .145.....1.9.............14.4....... .567
Bairstow........160.......9.8........97.5.....92.4..........5.1....... .115.... -0.9............16.6....... .557
Dorius............152......17.2.....101.5....84.4.........17.1...... .171.....0.9.............21.6....... .524
Bean is second on the team in minutes played, first on the team in PER, first on the team in Offensive Rating, second on the team in Defensive Rating, first on the team in Net Rating, first on the team in Win Shares per 40, second on the team in plus/minus, fourth on the team in points per 100 possessions, and first on the team in rebounds per 100 possessions.
A couple of other things leap out: Karwowski is first on the team in plus/minus, second on the team in PER, second in TS%, second on the team in Offensive Rating, first on the team in Defensive Rating, and second on the team in Net Rating. He served as a fantastic sub for Queta, and having him back from appendicitis will be huge.
Brito and Anderson have stumbled a bit in recent games, but still are providing above-average production.
Miller, Porter, and Bairstow bring up the rear in nearly every one of these categories, and probably should be spending a little less time on the court -- unless they step up their play.

Re: Is Justin Freaking Bean Our MVP?
The season is half over, and most of the Quad 1 games have already been played. I don’t know what other competition you are waiting for, unless it’s SDSU. I expect he will do just fine tonight and he’ll play at least as well as any other Aggie - considering the topic is whether he’s the MVP.
I think it’s easy to make a case that he has been the most productive player on the team this year. If he and the Aggies continue to do the same during conference play, I expect him to be first team all MWC.

Bean is awesome and has made huge strides. He is so much fun to watch.
Merrill is unquestionably the MVP of Todd team. Every team does everything they can to take him out of the game.

Bean has been the most consistent player on the team so far in my opinion.

I don't really see the point in mocking the former poster. Some of you ran him off nearly a year ago.stewusu98 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2020, 3:07 pmHe is mocking a former poster.dogie wrote: ↑January 4th, 2020, 3:06 pmThe season is half over, and most of the Quad 1 games have already been played. If Bean continues on his current pace he will absolutely be first team All-Conference.

I don’t see the point in people getting so upset about a joke. Aggies22, I think you are great and love what you bring to the forum, but no need to overreact.aggies22 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2020, 4:54 pmI don't really see the point in mocking the former poster. Re: Is Justin Freaking Bean Our MVP?
The accumulation of d!ck moves by five or so posters and their joiners-in concerning that very former poster shut down this board's predecessor. There was every chance that no replacement be created.ususports wrote: ↑January 4th, 2020, 5:39 pmI don’t see the point in people getting so upset about a joke. The same five or so d!cks were never disciplined and were empowered to continue their miserable treatment of a fellow Aggie. Maybe you never learned that that isn't how it's supposed to be. Maybe you're ignorant. I have no idea.
Ultimately, it's poor sport to mock those who have no voice to respond. It's like tripping dwarfs. And it's a d!ck move.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I have no idea what happened to USUBlue. This thread isn’t going anywhere productive, and I apologize for making a simple joke. Let’s all hope for an Aggie win tonight, and watch Bean continue to be great!
