I'm not going to pay to read the article. Do you have a summary?

A female UNM Lobo athlete was shot in the leg and suffered non-life threatening injuries at a party early Sunday morning said to be attended by athletes from numerous Lobo athletic teams, including recruits visiting campus over the weekend.

The shooting occurred at a home said to be rented out by men’s Lobo basketball player JaQuan Lyle, who missed Saturday’s game at Nevada and did not make the trip to Reno, Nev., due to an injured left knee.

Albuquerque Police is handling the investigation, and UNM Athletic Department officials only are saying they are aware of the situation and gathering more information before commenting.

The Journal has confirmed athletes from multiple UNM sports, including some who were hosting football recruits visiting Albuquerque over the weekend, were at the party, which was heavily promoted by a non-student. What that person’s involvement is with Lyle or other UNM athletes is remains unconfirmed by the Journal.

All the recruits, the Journal was told by one UNM source, were gone before the early morning shooting.

The Journal is awaiting more details on the incident from APD and UNM

This sounds like a story out of Las Cruces, not Albuquerque. Are we positive it wasn't NMSU?

Anyone now if Paul Weir or Rocky Long were in attendance at the party? Also, just wondering if the football recruits were impressed and if they will be signing soon?

Hey, now. Let's be a little more sensitive to the victim.
