UNLV-SDSU

Don’t look now (or maybe do), but UNLV leads SDSU 30-20 with four minutes left in the first half in San Diego. CBSSN missed the first 13 minutes of the game due to the URI-Davidson overtime.

It’s unlikely that this will hold, but I don’t want to see the Aggies play UNLV in Las Vegas during the tournament. If the Aggies hold on to second place, they won’t possibly face UNLV in either of the first two rounds. But third or fourth will.

UNLV up 37-25 at halftime! Largest deficit of the season for the Aztecs....

Does SDSU losing help or hurt us? Kind of would prefer to have them undefeated going into the conference championship game.

I think it’s good for the conference if they win out and enter the NCAA tournament as a 1 seed. It would be great for the Aggies to defeat the number 1 team in the country.

I’m not shocked by UNLV’s halftime lead, but I will be shocked if they win.

I think the drop in NET would hurt us more if SDSU losses than it would help us from the jump that UNLV would get.

A UNLV win really helps to get them in the other side of the bracket.

Let UNLV break their spirit, then let us break their MWC tourney hopes.

I don't really care who wins I just want San Diego State and UNLV to be on the opposite side of our bracket in the conference tournament.

Could any of the guys who run videobot put the game from CBS sports on videobot? I don't have CBS sports but would love to watch the game.

I think common foul was the right call

I think this is good for us. Makes it more likely UNLV is a 4-5 seed and on the opposite side. Also makes our loss to them less bad and our win better.

The BSU at UNLV has big ramifications on seeding. If UNLV wins they can force a 4-way tie for third place. I believe Nevada would have the tie breaker leaving a 3-way tie between CSU, BSU and UNLV. By virtue of its split with SDS the Rebels would get the #4 seed and stay out of our side of the bracket.

All bets are off unless we beat NM.

I’m not surprised. SDSU has a similar night at home versus SJSU. They were able to squeak that one out with a buzzer beater 3. No such luck tonight. I just wish they had shot like that versus USU. I’m just hoping SDSU and UNLV end up being on the same side of the bracket in the MWC tournament. UNLV will have some juice now though.
I’m guessing this costs SDSU the 1 seed. Which might be better, then they won’t have to be #1 in the east with Duke at #2 playing in New York.

How would tie breakers go if usu, unlv, and nevada all end at 12-6 in conference?

I believe the first tie breaker would leave UNLV in 4th. Against each other, USU is 2-1, Nevada is 2-1 and UNLV is 1-3. USU would win the tie breaker between them and Nevada......2=USU, 3=Nevada, 4=UNLV

Thanks that is intersting. do you know where the tiebreaker rules are located for the conference?

I just recall that in case of a 3 or more team tie, then the first tie-breaker is combined record against the teams involved. 2nd tie breaker is head to head, and if still not resolved then the team with the best record against the #1 seed and keeps going down the list 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. until it's broken

It seems that both Nevada and unlv hired well last year as both have improved a lot as the season has progressed. Great for the conference.

The worst scenario for us is if nevada and unlv win out and we lose one game. In that case we would be 4th seed. That would be bad. All i can say is aggies just jfw.

This is really good for us.
Keep UNLV on the other side of the bracket.
SDSU won’t underestimate them twice.

Do we not own the tiebreaker over Nevada? Also, if we lose either of our last two, we’re going to have to beat SDSU to get in anyway.

Just keep UNLV far away.

If nevada wins out and we lose they would have 5 losses and us 6. I agree that we need to beat San Diego State but I would much rather playing in the championship game.

Meanwhile Nevada is in a close game at home vs fresno. A lot could change in the seeding in the next week people.
