So this is likely how the MWC bracket will end up...
SDSU one seed.
USU two seed. (assuming we win in NM) 13-5
NEV three seed. (they will likely lose to SDSU) 12-6
UNLV four seed. (they are tied with Nev after beating BSU and SJSU, but lose tie bracker to Nev) 12-6
BSU five (likely to lose to UNLV) (BSU has tie bracker with CSU) 11-7
CSU six (likely to beat AF) 11-7
Hopefully, these hold true. Am I missing anything?

I guess the question is do we want Nevada or Boise State as the potential semifinal opponent?

Cool website, thanks for the link. Am I reading it right that USU is locked into the 2 seed even if we lose Saturday and Nevada pulls off the upset? I've tried several different scenarios and USU is always 2 and Nevada is always 3.Aglicious wrote: ↑February 26th, 2020, 11:55 amYou can play with the different scenarios at the link below and it will spit out the tourney bracket results for you.

With the caveat of we don't know how we'll look against NM Saturday, I prefer the 2 seed with potential opponents NM or SJSU. CSU will be a tough matchup wherever they end up in the quarterfinals, AFA can get hot from 3, and Fresno is better than their record.

I think if we lose to NM, UNLV beats Boise, and Nevada beats SDSU, we would be the 4 seed.aggietime wrote: ↑February 26th, 2020, 12:17 pmCool website, thanks for the link. I’d rather have BSU then Nevada In the semi. Nevada has come on strong. They will give SDSU a good run Saturday.

Thanks for the clarification. I agree with USU0505, I'd rather see Boise than Nevada in a potential semifinal game. We need Boise to beat UNLV tonight and SDSU to hold serve against Nevada for Boise to grab the 3 seed.

I like beating Nevada though. Just make sure if we go up against Boise we better have a big lead in the last 3 minutes

New Mexico has pretty much completely crumbled in. They have a lot of talent but boy have they struggled. Fresno will be a tough game assuming we can get the second seed and they beat San Jose in the first round game.

Even if we lose at NM, UNLV wins out, and SDSU beats Nevada, aren't we the 2 seed since we have tie breakers with Nevada, and UNLV? Help out a dummy.

Re: So this is likely how the MWC bracket will end up...
If we lose to New Mexico and Nevada beats San Diego then Nevada has a better record, and we don't have the tie breaker with UNLV which puts us to 4th seed. Although, if San Diego wins we have the tie breaker with Nevada who has it over UNLV leaving us in 2nd seed?Aggiestyle wrote: ↑February 26th, 2020, 9:59 pmEven if we lose at NM, UNLV wins out, and SDSU beats Nevada, aren't we the 2 seed since we have tie breakers with Nevada, and UNLV? We will be the 2 seed if we win or if Nevada loses.
We will be the 3 seed if we lose, Nevada wins, and UNLV loses.
We will be the 4 seed if we lose and Nevada and UNLV both win.
These are the possibilities. We’re the late game so we’ll know exactly what’s on the line when we play.

It’s doubtful that Boise, as a #5 seed, will play us in the tourney. If they do, it will be because we are the #4 seed. So I’m hoping that eventuality doesn’t exist.aggies22 wrote: ↑February 27th, 2020, 6:42 amI feel like we owe Boise State another beat down. Re: So this is likely how the MWC bracket will end up...
I get it. I’d love to have another crack at BSU. But the downside of playing them again is just too great. They are locked into the #5 seed and have no ability to get the #3 seed. Their regular season is over with an 11-7 record. Neither USU nor Nevada will have more than 6 losses. If UNLV were to lose to SJS (fat chance) they would also have 7 losses but win the tie-breaker over BSU. The only way we will see BSU again this season is for the Aggies to fall to the #4 seed. That would portend bad things happening — 1) us losing to NM; 2) having to play SDS to reach the conference finals; and 3) likely having to accept an NIT invite as a #1 seed.aggies22 wrote: ↑February 27th, 2020, 12:39 pmI just said that in hopes that Boise State were to land in the #3 seed.utaggies wrote: ↑February 27th, 2020, 7:54 amIt’s doubtful that Boise, as a #5 seed, will play us in the tourney. We’ll need to be content with beating NM, beating Fresno St., beating UNLV and seeing what happens against SDS.

Re: So this is likely how the MWC bracket will end up...
Aren't we most likely to get Nevada if we beat NM on Saturday and win our quarterfinal match up with presumably Fresno? That's assuming that UNLV beats the Josers and Nevada loses to SDSU as well...thus locking in Reno to the 3 seed by having the tie breaker over UNLV.

Re: So this is likely how the MWC bracket will end up...
Yes. Even should Nevada fall into a 12-6 tie with UNLV, Nevada wins the tie-breaker as they swept the Rebels. If we lose to NM and fall into a three-way tie with UNLV and Nevada at 12-6 UNLV would take the #4 seed as it would have a 1-2 record against both Nevada and USU while the latter two would each have a 2-1 record. We then would take the #2 seed given our 1-0 record against Nevada.breadysmith wrote: ↑February 27th, 2020, 1:40 pmAren't we most likely to get Nevada if we beat NM on Saturday and win our quarterfinal match up with presumably Fresno? The trouble comes should Nevada beat SDS and we lose to NM. Then we lose the tie-breaker to UNLV and fall to the #4 seed. If we lose to NM I believe we are SOL on an at-large bid to the NCAAs anyway.

So as I understand it, because of the UNLV win, these are the scenarios:
Aggies win, Nevada wins = 2 seed
Aggies win, Nevada loses = 2 seed
Aggies lose, Nevada wins = 4 seed
Aggies lose, Nevada loses = 2 seed
Correct?
Aggies win, Nevada wins = 2 seed
Aggies win, Nevada loses = 2 seed
Aggies lose, Nevada wins = 4 seed
Aggies lose, Nevada loses = 2 seed
Correct?

I believe this is correct, sir. But beyond MW seeding, an at-large in the NCAA is on the line too. I hope to see a dialed in and focused team tonight.
