2020 Mountain West Tournament Information

Post by ProvoAggie » February 26th, 2020, 7:56 pm

It's almost time for the 2020 Mountain West Basketball Tournament so I figured I'd put together a guide for anyone going down.
Men's Bracket:

Tickets: UNLV Ticket Office | StubHub
Parking: ~$20/day or you can stop at the UNLV Parking Office and get a weekly visitor pass for $10.75. It will let you park in the Thomas & Mack Parking lot. The Hard Rock Cafe that has normally been an option is currently close but there may be other free lots within walking distance. If you find one then share it.

Women's Tournament Website: https://themw.com/sports/2020/1/21/cham ... _2020.aspx

USU Alumni Tailgate

Free. While food & ice cream lasts
Cash bar is available

Campus Store will be in attendance with Aggie gear.

So come and be sure to bring your family and friends. Keep in mind Thomas & Mack Arena has a clear bag policy. There will be complimentary clear bags at each tailgate.

To stay up to date during the tournament and receive text messages about the party locations, text "MWT20" to 51555. This will be the best way to know the time and exact location of each tailgate.
Please call 435-797-1326 if you have any questions while in Vegas!

Go Aggies!

Thanks for adding the info about our Alumni tailgates. We were informed at the last minute that we can't be in the parking lot this year. The Sunday event prior to the women's game is in the Cox Pavilion. We will update on the events to follow as soon as we know. Again, we will send text messages with updates. To be included, please text “MWT20" to 51555. This will be the best way to know the time and exact location of each tailgate.

Thank you for being patient as we work through this!

Just an FYI (if you were curious like me) the first round games will be streamed on the Mountain West Network (https://themw.com/watch/?id=6130113158001) and the rest of the rounds will be on CBSSports.

This may have been asked somewhere before... are there scalpers at all outside the stadium? Like do fans of teams who lost sell their tickets? I guess what I’m asking is what is the cheapest place for tickets? We’re a bunch of poor kids :P

You can park for free in the ‘S’ lot if you can find a space. We happened to show up as someone was leaving and got lucky. It was a 10-15 minute walk.

You will be able to buy tickets from people whose teams lose as they walk away, especially those from San Jose, Wyoming,
Fresno State and New Mexico. They will all hit the tables the minute their teams hit the showers. But you have to be quick about it because the real scalpers will also be trying to buy those tickets and turn them. Don't even let them get outside Thomas & Mack.

Success! After asking a couple of UNLV fans one of them looked us over and said, “Ah, you guys can just have them. My best friend went to Utah State!” He then gave us a pair of center court tickets to the semis and finals!

You could do the entire thing and spend nothing. The alumni association has a free event with no cost food, and if you can find lot S parking there is free. I wonder how many folks have pulled that off ?

So, are scalpers the best bet for last minute championship tickets?

If you want lower bowl then scalpers or secondary ticket market. If not then you will be relegated to buying from the ticket office in the upper deck.
