Re: Overlooked lineup
Any lineup without Bean is not going to own the boards as well as if it had Bean in it.

Re: Overlooked lineup
Dorius and Kuba couldn’t even get on the floor at the end of the year. I thought they had more potential so we’ll see how they do this offseason.

Re: Overlooked lineup
Does Nigel John immediately become second behind Queta? Also, I haven't heard if he's going to be a true Center, or a strong 4. Does anyone have more detail on that? He seems built like Wesley, just a bit taller. However, I've only seen highlights of him playing against 12 year old kids.

We will see. But if is as good as the interest level from schools in his recruiting then I think he has a good chance of being the number 2 guy behind queta.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 12:28 amDoes Nigel John immediately become second behind Queta? I think the staff likes a stretch 4 rather than an inside 4. In the future I see he and Liam being our starting 4 and 5.

Rebounding is so much more than size and length. Instinct and pure want and Bean has that in spades over taller, longer forwards.

Re: Overlooked lineup
Bairstow was a decent rebounder last season, and Queta is very good at rebounding. McChesney is like 6'10-6'11" and should have big height advantage on whoever he faces.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 7:29 amRebounding is so much more than size and length. You remind me of the people who doubted Bean until last season. Dorius looked really good for a player fresh off his mission.

Not only is Bean our best rebounder, he might be our second best scorer inside. He's really improved offensively and I expect that trend to continue.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 6th, 2020, 11:31 pmAny lineup without Bean is not going to own the boards as well as if it had Bean in it.

This is probably the early go to lineup. I was talking about the potential of McChesney/Queta/Bairstow as scoring options and rebounding with those guys should be great. McChesney might be vertically open all the time because of his height, and the highlights show that he moves well.usubullzone wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 1:25 pmCenter- Queta or Dorius

Re: Overlooked lineup
I’ve talked with Liam before and he says he can play the 2, 3, and 4 spots. I wouldn’t be surprised if he competes with Miller for the starting spot at the 3. We’ll see the how coaching staff utilizes him. He excites me, so does Bairstow. If we can land a grad transfer guard to help develop Rollie, Bischoff, and Ashworth that would help down the long run.SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 2:11 pmWould not rule out Rollie and/or Bischoff taking away Miller's playing time.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 2:09 pmUnless we land someone that is starter worthy between now and the season, or unless there is any injury to a player, this is the 100% guaranteed starting lineup for Game 1:SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 1:44 pmThis is probably the early go to lineup. IMO Miller's minutes should be challenged more by Fonso than anything. I think he's displayed enough quickness and outside shot ability to play the spot Miller does.SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 2:11 pmWould not rule out Rollie and/or Bischoff taking away Miller's playing time.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 2:09 pmUnless we land someone that is starter worthy between now and the season, or unless there is any injury to a player, this is the 100% guaranteed starting lineup for Game 1:SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 1:44 pmThis is probably the early go to lineup. I really like Fonso and hope we can get him plenty of minutes next year.
I also agree with Hipster's assessment that if we don't add anyone of significance, this will definitely be the starting lineup next year.

I am 100% on the Fonso train. I've got high hopes for a lot of the incoming guys, and I think we've got excellent talent, but if there's anyone that I want to see on the court, it's Anderson.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 4:43 pmIMO Miller's minutes should be challenged more by Fonso than anything. Re: Overlooked lineup
I don't see a lot of scoring options. I see one guy (Queta) that has been an inconsistent scorer whose max scoring effort in his two-year, injury-plagued career of what? 18 points?
After Queta, there is nobody in that lineup that has proven to be able to reliably score.
Who do you see as making up the "a lot of scoring options"?

Re: Overlooked lineup
McChesney was consider to be the 2nd best shooter in practice, and the best was Merrill. Bairstow flashed real potential at times, and you got to remember he was a true freshmen last season. Queta is Queta, and Queta will probably be better than last season.Yossarian wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 7:10 pmI don't see a lot of scoring options. Re: Overlooked lineup
Most teams will try and carry 3 scholarship players at the PF/C spot. Although Trevino Dorius is much better than anticipated, he's still a walk-on and allows the staff the luxury of adding another very good big man in Nigel John as a scholarship player. Plus Kuba is a senior next year and the chances of Neemias staying beyond next season probably aren't that great either.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑April 8th, 2020, 7:14 amThat's good to know, thanks 22. Re: Overlooked lineup
As far as shooting ability ONLY goes. Liam is not very far behind Sam Merrill.brownjeans wrote: ↑April 8th, 2020, 9:19 amThe gap between no. 1 and whoever no. 3 was is huge. So is no. 2 nearer to no. 1, or no. 3?
I mean, your statement is like saying the one-eyed guy with an astigmatism has the second best vision in a room full of blind people one one guy who has both eyes and 20/20 vision. Yes he does have the second best vision, but...

Re: Overlooked lineup
Living in Pullman and having watch Ernie Kents teams, that does not really impress me. I am more impressed with summit league recruits.aggies22 wrote: ↑April 8th, 2020, 10:49 amHad Ernie Kent not been let go at Washington State, Nigel John would be on his way to Pullman.slcagg wrote: ↑April 8th, 2020, 8:06 amOne thing I remember Craig mentioning about him is his hustle. He’s the newcomer next year that I’m anticipating the most.aggies22 wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 10:13 pmNigel John is absolutely a true center. He has a jump hook in his arsenal.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑April 7th, 2020, 12:28 amDoes Nigel John immediately become second behind Queta? Also, I haven't heard if he's going to be a true Center, or a strong 4. Does anyone have more detail on that? He seems built like Wesley, just a bit taller. However, I've only seen highlights of him playing against 12 year old kids.
Here is the press release of his signing, see Craig’s comments. Also remember he had heavy interest from several other solid programs.

Re: Overlooked lineup
Here is an odd question. Are any of your players from other countries still in Logan? Are they in the US or Canada? I know that most if not all of the Pack players are back where they live. We do have one freshmen recruit from Australia though he played in California this past season.
If there is restricted air travel, particularly from overseas, that may play a role in lineups across the country.
