Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
Ole Miss plays LSU. It’s win win for them as win boosts them and loss won’t hurt much. Seton Hall plays Georgetown since they beat Villanova so further chance they go further in tournament. I’ll only feel confident winning but would feel good if it’s CSU tomorrow and we beat them.

Still have to win one more at least. Other teams in power 5 conferences are going to get wins.

Yep, we won't get in if we lose to CSU.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑March 11th, 2021, 10:53 pmStill have to win one more at least. Other teams in power 5 conferences are going to get wins.

Agreed. We can't give the committee any excuses to leave us out.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 12:14 amYep, we won't get in if we lose to CSU.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑March 11th, 2021, 10:53 pmStill have to win one more at least. Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
Lol, yeah. The NCAA takes basically the top 48 or so teams besides lower level conference champs & puts them in.
Our net ranking is 41 & Ken Pom is 39, and we’re the last time team in. Of course.

It’s really a bunch of crap that they develop this NET rating (which they can modify and change at any time to help the big conferences out) as an objective measurement for tournament consideration, then the committee subjectively disregards it.

Assuming SDSU wins tonight i think CSU and USU will be in regardless of their game outcome. I think boise screwed themselves losing to fresno and then nevada. I think the MW will get 3 teams in.

Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
Not a lot of bubble teams left playing, so this could happen. We have at least played ourselves into sweating bullets on Sunday to see if we are in. Assuming SDSU wins today, we are unable to take a bad loss now.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 8:24 amAssuming SDSU wins tonight i think CSU and USU will be in regardless of their game outcome. Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
We only have 1 year of them using NET to go off right? they started it in 2019? But if I remember right, it was a pretty good measure of how the committee would go. Not the only factor but I don't think they disregard it that much.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 7:52 amIt’s really a bunch of crap that they develop this NET rating (which they can modify and change at any time to help the big conferences out) as an objective measurement for tournament consideration, then the committee subjectively disregards it.

Agreed, i would much rather win the dang tournament and dont put it in the hands of the committee. If SDSU wins tonight, any loss today or tommorrow will be a quad 1 loss.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 8:28 amNot a lot of bubble teams left playing, so this could happen. Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
I hope you’re right, because we should be in with a net around 40, or even 45 if we lose tonight (shouldn’t even be that much as a Q1 loss).thegreendalegelf wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 8:54 amWe only have 1 year of them using NET to go off right? they started it in 2019? Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
Yeah that’s the way it looks for sure. CSU was previously comfortably in and just keeps sliding back for no apparent reason. Now at the very end of the bracket..
They have a better chance at an at-large than we do given no bad losses so they could still make it worth a loss today but it’s getting slim. We really need Seton Hall and Ole Miss to lose. They are the last ones playing. Then no bid thieves from any conference tourneys. Would also like to see VCU drop. Unfortunately Virginia bowed out of their tourney with Covid so Georgia Tech is moving on.a loss there to help us out.

How many on here think if we win tonight we don't get in? Yes there is unfairness in the system, but I believe and I think most of us believe if we win tonight we'll get in. We don't have to worry about anything else. We have a game today to control our own destiny. Let's just beat the Lambkins tonight!

They're pretty much in already. 34 in NET with a 5-9 Q1 record, 3-3 Q2 record and no losses in Q3 or Q4.

I think a win tonight gets us in IF SDSU beats Nevada. If not, I think we remain on the bubble.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 10:23 amHow many on here think if we win tonight we don't get in? Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
No way they take 4 teams. If Nevada wins the tourney, it'll be NV, SDSU, and maaabye one of CSU and USU, but I could see them leaving us both out. No way we both make it if NV wins out.

True, although I am far more confident in us beating Nevada if we win tonight than beating SDSU for a 3rd time.gomretat wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 10:50 amI think a win tonight gets us in IF SDSU beats Nevada. I just hope the MWC teams make some noise in the tourney this year. That will really help the future of the conference.

Re: We are last team in per Lunardi
Jerry Palm has CSU in as an 11 seed before the play in game & USU as the 3rd team out.
But yet when we're playing CSU on a neutral court USU is 4.5 favorites, which is a sizeable amount. Vegas doesn't descrimate.

if we win tonight and SDSU wins we will pretty much be a lock no matter what happens tomorrow. That being said just put all doubters to rest and the win the thing.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 12th, 2021, 10:23 amHow many on here think if we win tonight we don't get in?
