Re: Transfers linked to usu
i just hope we can land an impact transfer this year. last year i was hoping the same thing, but nothing materialized. Anthony has been good, but we can use an impact player for next year with experience.

That is a serious hairdo. He would have fit right in with our all-hair team of a few years ago.

Re: Transfers mentioned that we have interest
It is good to see that Minnesota hasn't contacted him. I haven't seen a picture posted on social media of Craig Smith during a recruiting trip sporting his Gopher gear (similar to one of our ex-football head coaches).

He should transfer to us since it makes so much sense. We are winning so much, and we have 2 guards that would be RS Srs next year.

Re: Transfers linked to usu
There are rumblings that some of the player's we'd hoped would have an impact next year are dissatisfied with lack of playing time. Bairstow and McChesney are brought up. We are unsure if Alphonso Anderson will stick around, as he's technically a senior this year. It's been indicated he's a good student, so he might want more schooling (potentially as a grad transfer, though there hasn't been much discussion on this specifically). Many of us also do not think that Kuba will be returning, though I don't know if that would be as a transfer or just finishing his time as an NCAA student athlete.
Anyone beyond those would be a surprise for most of us on this board, I think.

If Bairstow leaves due to lack of playing time, there's not much that can be done about that. Nobody on the team has been given more chances despite their questionable performance than him.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 8:10 amThere are rumblings that some of the player's we'd hoped would have an impact next year are dissatisfied with lack of playing time. The only one I would be sad about losing would be AA. I honestly believe the rest of those scholarships could be put to better use.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 8:43 amIf Bairstow leaves due to lack of playing time, there's not much that can be done about that. I wouldn't Knock Liam McChesney until he actually gets a real chance to play. I don't think he is gonna transfer either. I think Craig Smith really believes in him and he will get alot of playing time next year.

Re: Transfers linked to usu
The McChesney stuff was literally just idle speculation. All evidence points to him being an important part of our future.
Now Kuba and Bairstow leaving feels like it could have some substance.

Re: Transfers linked to usu
I also don't know why McChesney would be mad. Last year he was sick and then this he hurt his foot. He has not really been healthy enough to play or even to be considered for playing time. I still have hopes for him to be good. Kuba should be going on. I would love for AA to come back another year he is a solid player. Bairstow has been given plenty of chances, but has been so hot and cold I don't know that losing him hurts at all.AggieFanNate wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 9:11 amineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 8:58 amThe only one I would be sad about losing would be AA. Bairstow's decreasing playing time has also decreased his turnover production as the season has progressed.

I am fine with keeping people too. Is it official that McChesney is unable to play at all due to injury?
He just has not lived up to the promised vanilla KD from the great white north. He needs to put on about 30 pounds to even be KD level skinny.

He will get there. He's still young. Remember Alston was 145lbs when he arrived at BSU and now he's 24, swole as hell, and getting NBA hype.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 3:06 pmI am fine with keeping people too. Is it official that McChesney is unable to play at all due to injury?

i am pretty sure Smith said he was out for the year from his foot injury. Hopefully he can have a normal off season, stay in Logan, eat plenty of Aggie ice cream and chees and gain 20 pounds.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 3:06 pmI am fine with keeping people too. Yep, he was in a boot for half of it and has not dressed for any of the games since then. Pretty sure the plan is to work towards a return next year. I will say in the very brief minutes we saw of him early that he moved far better than I thought he could for his height but we have yet to witness his shooting ability. I'm still holding out hope given what we saw in that short glimpse.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 3:26 pmi am pretty sure Smith said he was out for the year from his foot injury. Hopefully, in a few weeks, when our new head coach arrives to Logan he can convince Alan Bishop into coming back to USU to strength train the basketball team. Alan would be great for Liam.Aglicious wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 3:30 pmYep, he was in a boot for half of it and has not dressed for any of the games since then. Bairstow's shot looks really good. Would hate to see all of that player development leave. He got great length for a guard. Need to keep him away from the fast break and learn to pull up and hit jumpers. Otherwise, he's a turnover waiting to happen.

I don't think that I have seen the development. He has looked to be about the same player at the end of his sophomore year as he was as a freshman. And if we can't trust a guard/wing to run a fast break.........IBleedAggieBlue wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 4:10 pmBairstow's shot looks really good.
