Re: Coaching candidates
Practically every coach in America has been mentioned in this thread so for the new coach to not be among the ones mentioned is quite a feat.

Re: Coaching candidates
Your AD has been hounding me to take the job since Smith left. Of course, we couldn't get together on the dollars and perks but he just wouldn't let up. In fairness, I was only using him to get a better gig.
Anyhoo, once I told him that I was out he finally knuckled down and will get his coach on Tuesday. Sorry I slowed everything up bit.

I do seem to recall Barret Peery being in the mix 3 years ago. Doubt he’s in the mix again, but just trying to make sure we mention every D1 coach before Tuesday

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

Yeah he hasn't exactly proven to be the "up and comer" some thought he would be 3 years ago.Aggiesbleedblue wrote: ↑April 4th, 2021, 9:48 amI do seem to recall Barret Peery being in the mix 3 years ago. I’m confused - based on some of the other posts it seems like it’s decided and will be announced Tuesday. This makes it seem like it’s still in the air.aggies22 wrote:This is fact as well. Has anybody mentioned potential coaches that used to play for the Jazz?

Re: Coaching candidates
Are we going to give the new coach an opportunity to say goodbye to his current players, or are we going to be douches like the AD in SLC?

Re: Coaching candidates
Has anyone mentioned Dave Rice as a possible candidate? He has head coaching experience in the Mountain West and also NCAA Tournament experience too. Plus, he was an assistant coach under Stew at one point, if I'm correct.

Not one of the two. Both are current D1 head coaches.VegasBornAggie wrote: ↑April 4th, 2021, 11:48 amHas anyone mentioned Dave Rice as a possible candidate? Those expecting us to hire Bill Self will be disappointed, but most will be excited no matter which guy is chosen.
One of the final two has really gotten a lot out of the transfer portal the last few years.
