Transfer portal success??
I have no idea where one would track this information at all. Perhaps, Has someone looked into future HC, .. .. .. .. .. hipsterdoofus? aggies22? ProvoAggie? USUBlue?? CaptainChaos?? JohnnyCienpesos??StanfordAggie??, who is the expert?.. .. .. .. prospects at G5 and lower-tier D1 programs who had success in transfer portal student-athletes sticking and improving their wins as a program overall??
Maybe USU hire's an AAU coach who has been involved in these national players, and has connections with many programs already, and could be an impactful back drop staffer helping with recruiting connections?? I'm spitballing here.
I was thinking of the early days of Stew lately, and how he was successful in finding the Mark Browns, Cardell Butler's, Chaz Spicer's, and Bernard Rock's of the world who were JC transfers, and by mid-season they were program improving players.
Obviously, the landscape has shifted to the transfer portal, a la Musselman at Arkansas(previously nevada). I would like to see a candidate who has previous success like Musselman in bringing in transfer portal players and growing with those players.
I feel like this was a bit lacking in Duryea and Smith, and it's time to take advantage of this change and bring in a coach who has success with these changes, IMHO.
Please tell me I'm wrong here if so.

Well for starters, you were absolutely right to place me ahead of Aggies22 in your list of experts.

Maybe thought, is an AAU coach on staff could be used only as an assistant, however worth the investment.Turtle wrote:Post of the week Hahahahahipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2021, 8:13 pmWell for starters, you were absolutely right to place me ahead of Aggies22 in your list of experts.
I see you all as equals in our own sphere of expertise contributing to the greater Aggie program success.

Kind words my friend. I agree it would be nice to have someone on staff that was an expert in the transfer portal system which we’ve only taken advantage of once in the last 5 years that it has taken off. I also think there’s great value to be found still in the juco ranks that Smith kind of neglected in his 3 years.LoveMyAggies wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2021, 9:10 pmMaybe thought, is an AAU coach on staff could be used only as an assistant, however worth the investment.Turtle wrote:Post of the week Hahahahahipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2021, 8:13 pmWell for starters, you were absolutely right to place me ahead of Aggies22 in your list of experts.

I would say that the danger in hiring an AAU Coach is that those dudes usually receive some type of monetary compensation from shoe companies for wearing their gear. Lots of eyes, ears and possibly wiretaps on those coaches right now.LoveMyAggies wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2021, 9:10 pmMaybe thought, is an AAU coach on staff could be used only as an assistant, however worth the investment.Turtle wrote:Post of the week Hahahahahipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2021, 8:13 pmWell for starters, you were absolutely right to place me ahead of Aggies22 in your list of experts.

Imagine my shock to see my name listed first. Maybe it’s a list of the most time spent on this board? For which I’m guilty as charged.

All it takes is to make bold incorrect predictions and then double down on them and you too could have such a title.ususports wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 3:17 pmEveryone wants to hear from THE Mr. buttface.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 2:20 pmMyself even more soProvoAggie wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 12:50 pmBut I have absolutely no idea why in the hell I'm on that list. Re: Transfer portal success??
Weir brought in some really good transfers at New Mexico but they never seemed to develop chemistry. SDSU has been killing it with transfers as well. Leon Rice has managed to land some good ones too.LoveMyAggies wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 4:33 pmHas anyone noticed mid-major teams who have been successful with the the transfer portal besides mussellman?
