That's staff is whiter than a stake dance in provo. Cue the meltdown in 3-2-1.

Re: Staff
?? Umm....so you didn't have confirmation that Crawford was coming before but now you can confirm he is?
Well hell, there goes my prediction of assistants. BTW, I'm glad he is joining us.....
And thanks as always @aggies22 !

Re: Staff
Well that's how it goes. If I'm asked and I don't know, I'll say I don't know. When I can confirm I will make it known.

Re: Staff
So it sounds like the staff is actually just the same 3 assistants that Ryan Odom had at UMBC.

Re: Staff
Matt Henry is the 3rd coach. So unless one of these UMBC guys is actually being given the player development or ops position, it's these 3.aggies22 wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 8:04 pmI'm not 100% certain about that.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 7:55 pmSo it sounds like the staff is actually just the same 3 assistants that Ryan Odom had at UMBC.

Re: Staff
Crawford and Dixon seem solid. Crawford seems like a young talent while Dixon has a lot of years as an assistant. Seems like they complement each other. Odom has worked with them for a while which is helpful as well.

Re: Staff
Sounds good. Have them bring in Eytle rock, horvath and a solid wing scorer and get to work coaching/building the team to be at the top of the MW.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 8:08 pmMatt Henry is the 3rd coach. Re: Staff
I couldn't tell you what he is doing now. He was fired from Wasatch Academy. He was fired from his previous job at a JC. It is hard to get fired from a JC.

Re: Staff
He got screwed at wasatch so BYU could bring in there guy there. Don’t know the story on jc. If I’m wrong on wasatch and you are aware of other reasons totally open to hearing. Because all did was win at wasatch.

Re: Staff
I don't think Condie is coaching basketball. I think he's an assistant AD at USU Eastern in Price. He did really well at Wasatch. He was let go at Central Wyoming JC. I think he was there for a year before being replaced just before the next season started. No idea why.

Re: Staff
I feel bad for Austin Hansen and David Ragland. They both busted their butts here at Utah State and helped CS get a huge raise. They have been rewarded by CS for their hard work by now having to find a new job. If I were them I’d be really pissed at CS.

Re: Staff
I agree, they were a huge part of his success and were just left by the curb. Coaching is a pretty vicious profession, but he certainly did not do them any favors by up and leaving and then not taking them with him.blueblood wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 9:16 pmI feel bad for Austin Hansen and David Ragland. Re: Staff
Does suck for them, they essentially got recruited over, although it is their income and not just playing time at stake. Hopefully they find a good place to land.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 9:56 pmI agree, they were a huge part of his success and were just left by the curb. Re: Staff
It is a tough situation but I don't know how you blame it on Smith. My bias is that it does not make sense for the head coach to take his entire staff into a new situation. You need one or two new guys when you make those kind of moves and it is part of the profession. I wish them well as I do every coach that gives it all when they coach at USU.blueblood wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 9:16 pmI feel bad for Austin Hansen and David Ragland. Probably true if Rothstein is reporting it. Maybe the mystery Aggie will be in a different role?

Re: Staff
Well, that staff knows how to work together and how to win together. As long as they can recruit to Utah State, I'm good with it.

Re: Staff
I was hoping Curtis Condie was on staff, but otherwise makes sense to just keep a successful group together.
