Press Coverage
Am I mistaken, or was there no SLC media at the press conference? KVNU, the Statesman and the Harold Journal all identified prior to asking a question, but the remainder of the questions appeared to have been asked by fans and boosters in attendance. If this is true, it's supremely lame. Did our Sports Information Director get the silent treatment?

Re: Press Coverage
where is the Salvesen guy from? he said his name, but not his affiliation. I thought he was from a SL media source.
It doesn't seem like the SL media just watched it and weren't there.
Sad if that is true

Re: Press Coverage
I know for a fact that 1280 the Zone broadcast the Press Conf. I listened to Scotty G and Hans talk about the new coach for a few minutes after.
Not sure about any of the SL newspapers.

Re: Press Coverage
I thought Ajay worked for KVNU.
Edit: Looks like he probably works for the University and 1069 The Fan.

Re: Press Coverage
I was pretty disappointed by the questions, frankly. Although, that's often the case with these press conferences.
The ones that were asked were fine, but there were a lot of obvious ones that weren't asked.

Re: Press Coverage
Ajay does Full Court press with Franson every afternoon on "The Fan" owned by KVNU. Feels like they are prepping to get the contract back. It's a great addition to the valley, sports talk all day (FoxSports).3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑April 7th, 2021, 2:07 pmI thought Ajay worked for KVNU.

Re: Press Coverage
Pretty sure he is employed by Learfield to produce basketball and footballs games, along with Coach shows. I think the KFAN gig is gratis unless Eric is just busting his bs about not getting paid.Stucki wrote:Ajay also produces the radio broadcast of games despite him working for the fan.

Re: Press Coverage
it looks like Jeff Hunter of the Deseret News was in attendance, his article has quotes from Brock Miller and talks about see in the players there and getting their reaction. so that was good, better then the article by the SL Trib, who wrote the wrong name for our coach.

Re: Press Coverage
If they were present, I didn't hear any questions from any of them. Maybe they didn't have any questions, but Al Lewis asked two questions, one to break up some awkward silence.

Re: Press Coverage
Newspaper's are dying and it's simply a fact that they don't have the same number of employees as they once did. There was a time that the Trib and DNews would have both been represented in Logan with Tony Jones and Jared Eborn but those days are long gone. People don't get there news that way anymore which has caused a reduction in staff, a lowering of content quality and and even larger decline in readership.
