The "enrolled in school" part makes it even stranger.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 9:19 amAgreed, so strange.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 8:59 amHas anyone confirmed if he is actually coming back?
The whole scenario is weird. Rumored to be going pro, then enters portal (weird if trying to go pro), then withdraws from portal 24 hours later. Do we know he’s not just leaving the portal to go back to Europe to try to go pro?

Re: Shulga is back
On the transfer portal page on the Verbal Commits page they say Umude is leaving So Dakota to go to Arkansas, but on the other page it says this..4/9/2021 - California 2017 SG Stanley Umude (6-6, 210, 2★) committed to South Dakota.
Maybe VC is just part of the weirdness.

Yeah I think we need to wait for confirmation from 22 or someone else before we know for sure here.

While 22 does his sleuth work I'll throw another theory out. Perhaps his Euro pro guys advised him to stay and develop his game more on our dime. Or maybe he's just one flaky dude.

Re: Shulga is back
I'm pro-Shulga, pro-Worster, pro-Marco, and pro-Zahar. I'll be happy if 2/4 of those are here next season.
I think Worster will develop into a guy you build a team around. I think Shulga's shown that he is an absolute player, with good defense/instincts and a smooth shot. Marco is excellent, thought not a consistent offensive weapon. And Zahar is clearly a good player, though he didn't fit into Coach Smith's system, and likely won't under Coach Odom's.
If any of them end up leaving, I wish them the best of luck, irrespective of where they end up. I had a buddy leave the team a few years back, and I hoped every game he got a double double while his team went winless. I hope nothing but the best developmentally/career-wise for these players.

Re: Shulga is back
I think the confusion is coming from saying "if any of them end up leaving..." yet Zahar left the team in the middle of the season and I don't think he has any intentions of ever returning? From all indications on the court, it seemed he lacked an understanding of team basketball. He did leave us the legend of the Russian Rocket though. I've never seen a more fearless chucker from 30'+.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 5:15 pmZahar. Re: Shulga is back
I'm well aware that Zahar is long gone. My bringing up the Russian Rocket Launcher was just to point out that I really liked him. It also highlights that my 2/4 hope is really 2/3 in hoping that only one of Shugla/Worster/Marco leaves.Pacobag wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 8:21 pmI'm confused by the bolded items. "If any of them end up leaving" was more referencing the 3 who are part of the team. I suppose it's more confusing if you don't know that I actually know Vedischev is gone.

Cool, I was wondering if you had some inside info and Zahar could somehow return to USU or if it was a typo or something. I personally believe that people are really underestimating how good Ashworth and Shulga will be in year 2. Ashworth was fresh off his mission, and Shulga is 18 and got a late start working with the team last season.

Re: Shulga is back
I'm optimistic as well. They both need to work on their outside shooting in the offseason to take that next step. There was one game Ashworth missed like 6 shots in a row and kept firing them. I was like "it's a team sport bro!"
