Suits and ties

Post by GameFAQSAggie » July 19th, 2021, 9:56 am

I for one think that coaches look better in suits and ties so I think they should go back to wearing those next year after not wearing them last year. Of course, Considering Odom was not wearing a tie during their big win, it's maybe also best he doesn't wear one when we get to the NCAAs.

I think they should wear whatever best speaks their truth. Individuality is the most important thing in society. In fact, I think it's more important to go out of your way to prove a point than to actually do something useful or productive.

THE most important thing? I don't see a lack of people attempting to explore their individuality these days, but I do see a lack of self discipline and responsibility.

Sorry, I've been off the board too long. My "Take Things too Literal" meter needs recalibration.

Odom dresses for success and is a pretty consistent classy dresser so I expect him to wear a fancy suit (with or without a tie). His staff also wore suits while at UMBC so I don’t expect they’ll veer from that.

Regarding Smith and his staff, he changed things up a bit. Can’t say I ever recall him wearing a suit or sports coat but he has worn shirt and tie before. Sometimes he even wore a tie over a plaid shirt or wore a sweatshirt over his shirt and tie. Seemed more like a business casual attire.

Duryea and Stew both wore suits, or at least sports coats with ties. Not as fancy as Odom but they definitely dressed up for games.

Now Larry Eustachy seemed to go through a transformation through the years. Always wore a black mock neck long sleeve shirt with dress slacks while at USU and Iowa State. After his shenanigans in Ames got him out of coaching he returned to Southern Miss and wore shirt and tie. He then switched to solid colored button ups (with CSU team logo) while in Fort Collins.

Smith would wear a shirt and tie his first two years, he would always be wearing a suit coat at the beginning of the game, during the introductions and huddle, then take it off immediately after tipoff.

As long as our next coach shows his arms, that is what matters.

Definitely the slow period of sports. Coach attire gets a thread

Welcome to July. Not much Aggie basketball news. Bucks winning the title and seeing Merrill be part of a championship team will be cool(if they can get it done).

I'd call it "Connecticut Casual".
