I'd say we shouldn't pay attention to preseason game scores. I think the only thing of value is to see how your own players are progressing and working together.

#23/20 Tennessee also lost to D2 Indianapolis...crazy stuff

I read a good point on another board that maybe some coaches don't care if they win and aren't trying to win. Instead, they are testing out lineups, bench players, etc. But i do think that coaches almost definitely DO NOT want to lose to these lower teams. EA Sports is a little different because they are talented. But a D1 power losing to a D2 team is worrisome for their fans/coach

Stew said in the pre game for Grand Canyon that although he never likes to loose exhibition games, it sometimes is nice because it really gets the team to focus in practice. He talked about loosing quite a bit to EA sports 3times?

It wouldn't bother me to see the U lose to Grand Canyon to open the season when it actually counts.
