Re: Nice Work Sammy!
He's good enough for training camp rosters. Has had a couple short stints on regular season rosters, but isn't quite good enough to stick.slcagg wrote:How is David Stockton on a training camp roster?

He was on the Hustle when Sam was, and I recall him looking really good in a lot of those games.

I mean I must be wrong and I don’t claim to be an expert but I remember seeing him a little at Gonzaga and then I believe on a jazz summer team. Was small and didn’t seem to be a fringe player to me. But I’m no expert on where he is currently at.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑October 16th, 2021, 10:14 pmHe was on the Hustle when Sam was, and I recall him looking really good in a lot of those games.

Regarding Stockton, NBA teams often employ a steady vet PG in Summer League/G League to help the offense run smoothly. Unlike the rest of the team, Stockton is not a prospect. He’s just there so the front office can evaluate the other players without an inexperienced PG botching everything. Josh Magette is another example of this specific archetype.
As for Sam, this is great news. Memphis is the perfect spot for him. Competitive team and he has a real shot to crack the rotation.
