Games of interest

Post by SpectrumMagic » November 20th, 2021, 1:38 pm

Richmond blew a late 8 point lead and lost 70-73 @ Drake.

Drake picked first in MVC would have been a nice road win.

Aztecs beat UT Arlington by 6 at home. Very surprising. UT Arlington has been beaten soundly 3 times.

The Atlantic 10 has had a ROUGH go so far in the non-conference.

CSU taking it to Creighton.

Roddy has 34 pts and 7-9 from 3

CSU shooting 61% from 3 (19-31)!!!

Boise beat Ole Miss
AF won again. They beat Tulsa earlier in year and Tulsa playing Utes for 1st in their tournament.

Only Nevada has had a bad preseason so far.

All we needed was Nevada to have held their lead and beat San Francisco & things would’ve been looking really rosey.

I think CSU is really good. Roddy is a man among boys.

I’m pretty sure the Aztecs are not winning the conference. And yes, I know they are good.
Also, Nevada will bounce back.

Yeah CSU looks solid. Boise State looks like they have potential.

I don’t think anyone stops csu this year but right now seems like 4 really good teams with a few others with potential.

Also seems that Sjsu and Air Force are better which would be huge for this conference.

To my eye, us and CSU appear to be the class of the conference. Lot of ball to be played still.

NM State ended up winning. Of note USU has beat 2 top 70 teams in the current Kenpom rankings (Richmond and OK).

Weber State is 5-0. Beating them on the road should be a Quad 2 win.

Boise state fans reaction. We must own them in bball based on their reaction to our win and discrediting of Oklahoma. I’d dare say Oklahoma is expected to be a better team than ole miss.

Csu appears to be the class of the conference. Followed by usu, SDSU and possibly Boise.

I’m still not counting Nevada out.

What a difference a week makes. To even be considered in the top 4 right now is incredible. Nevada is really talented and will come around.

Big 12 is a better conference than the SEC. Oklahoma is a better win than Ole Miss. That OU team is experience-laden.

Noted that the "top half" of the bracket won all four of the games against the "lower half" in today's games of the Myrtle Beach Invitational, headlined by USU beating Oklahoma. (These two you mention, and Davidson also beat East Carolina.)

San Jose State beats Northern Colorado on a game-winning poster dunk.

Dave Hall not calling a charge here is in the early running for upset of the year.

In the running for most improved in the MWC is SJSU's court. I mean it's still ugly but it's about 1000 times better.

Gotta be honest, I had UC Davis penciled in as a win in this game against the Academy of Art but in the end they couldn't win the battle in the paint. Certainly paints an interesting picture as to how bad that opening night loss was. To be fair though, I hear that the Academy of Art is top notch at drawing up plays.

Oklahoma got a pretty decent road win against UCF.

Richmond keeps stumbling at the finish line, having lost heartbreakers to Drake, Maryland, and Mississippi St. Not really doing us any favors.
