SDSU shooting 83% from the field and 8-9 from 3 so far.

What has happened to Nevada?

Man I would disown my school if we ever got blown out by south Dakota state

That being said, pretty sure Nevada will figure it out just in time for conference play and destroy our NET ratings and eliminate a berth or two.

They must have a group of scorers that is completely unwilling to play defense. You should not give up 51 points in a half to South Dakota State - ever.

And Nevada did it twice..... in one game.

Is Steve Alford starting one of his sons over a future NBA All Star again?

Definitely a trainwreck. Loss to USC, SCU, San Fran Freako and South Dakota State. Ouch. If you are going to start 1-4 at least do it to quality opponents.

I have no idea what's going on with Nevada. There's too much talent there for this to be indicative of the team we'll see later on. Santa Clara is much improved this year. San Fran is good enough to handle a team like Davidson. Both of them are undefeated so far.

I'm interested in Spuds take. He doesn't strike me as being the type of fan that would be in panic mode yet, but I'm sure there are a few Pack fans that are starting to gnash their teeth about the size of a buyout on a coach with 7 years left on his contract. Alford came with a name and some past success, but as much as we might not want to admit it, he followed a tough act in Muss. But this is year 3 and they have experience and they are Alford's guys so there is accountability.

CSU was down 44-24 early in the second half, but has pulled back into it at 48-44 with 9:00 left.

Yeah Wyoming might be a good team this year. Got a P5 scalp in Seattle and beat a solid Grand Canyon team on the road.

Nevada doing better would help us out a lot but nothing is hurting the conference more than San Jose and Air Force being pathetic, as per usual. Even Air Force with four wins is still getting them against awful programs.

I kinda think it's smart of Air Force playing some easy competition to gain some confidence and figure things out before they are thrown into the Mountain West competition. I can't imagine it's very easy keeping morale up when you have a 5-20 season.

I am watching it as well. They are very fundamentally sound. It will be a very rough game to win. They play good defense and are very physical. The Fotu guy will be a load to handle.

I’d love to see USU host the Maui Invitational sometime in the next few years. They usually have a lot of good teams in that tournament.

It could also be good for the economy. Tourism isn’t really strong in Cache Valley in November. But I think a lot of fans of all eight schools could be enticed into the trip to Logan with the promise of soft sandy beaches, warm trade winds and luaus.

Nothing screams Maui quite like Cache Valley in late November.
