MWC is rocking and rolling
MWC is rocking and rolling
I wanted to comment again at how many games MWC teams are winning this year. Since Friday, conference teams are 18-4 against D-1 competition. The four losses were Michigan, Texas, S. Dakota State and Wichita State. Some of the wins were over teams from the PAC-12, SEC, Big East, Big XII, AAC, Missouri Valley, WCC and A-10.

Yep, the MWC is performing awesome in OOC games. If they continue to do this there will be a lot of teams that are ranked in the top 125 going into conference play. It will provide a lot of opportunities for Good winds throughout the conference season.

Also sjsu has already won 2 division 1 games. Sometimes they go all season without doing that.

Message board are obviously havens for die-hard fans. But surfing through the other message boards of conference basketball teams shows that a lot of folks expect their team to finish in the top 3. Probably more than in seasons of the recent past.

Surely he must be more likeable than you guys think he is. He consistently has the top recruiting class. Cant be totally unlikable and be able to recruit at that level over the last 20 years.

Re: MWC is rocking and rolling
The MWC has done well out of conference but there's two games I really wish MWC teams could've pulled off.
UNLV 73 Wichita st. 74. UNLV had the lead with 5 seconds left but Wichita st. scored for the win.
Nevada 70 San Francisco 73. Nevada had a 16 point lead late in the 1st half it gave up. San Francisco is really good and this was a road game for Nevada. San Fran is currently #37 in Kenpom.

Re: MWC is rocking and rolling
While USF was clearly the better team, by a large margin, it would have been a sweet upset for the Pack had they pulled it out..
Last season the Pack lost by close to 30 to the Dons in Reno.
However, USF is currently sitting at 100 Net in Bracketologists. NV is 101..The numbers are almost meaningless this early in the season..The effect on the overall MW numbers is negligible.

Re: MWC is rocking and rolling
Just as a note. The NET rankings on there are still from last year. The NCAA hasn't released the official NET rankings and we don't have them quite reverse engineered yet... Although we did get it like 99 accurate last year. As of now everything else on Bracketoligists is up to date but NET and Quad rankings aren't.nvspuds wrote:https://bracketologists.com/team/nevada-wolf-packnvspuds wrote: ↑November 26th, 2021, 11:25 amWhile USF was clearly the better team, by a large margin, it would have been a sweet upset for the Pack had they pulled it out..

Re: MWC is rocking and rolling
I don't think the USF game will be a Quad 1 after you do the reverse engineering..
The Pack has a tough ooc schedule for them but it was never going to be a conference booster or one that hurts the MW much..
Preseason hype is preseason hype. NV returned 5 starters from a 5th place team in a fairly blah mid major..
That was where they should have been picked..5th or lower...That is quite likely how it will end up.
However, unless NV beats you, which would be a very bad loss, they are exactly no deterrent to your at large chances..
You probably punched your ticket already..

Re: MWC is rocking and rolling
Well, Boise's women's volleyball won the mwc tourney today, so they have that. did it as a #6 seed, the lowest seed to ever win the tournament.

Re: MWC is rocking and rolling
Last week I was going to post that Boise is going to be better than we think they will be. Sometimes it’s good that I get distracted and don’t follow through.
