Re: BYU intrasquad scrimmage
While I know that tonights outcome isn't what's best for USU's SOS, I loved every minute of it. As a UVU grad it was a super fun game in a great atmosphere. I really wish that USU still played UVU as well.

Re: BYU intrasquad scrimmage
You will have to excuse LoveMyAggies complaint. It is totally logical to see BYU in the subject line of a thread and then be furious that there is talk about BYU inside that thread. I can't believe that anyone would actually include BYU content inside a thread that has BYU in the subject line. What kind of sick person tries to trick the rest of us into reading this sludge by being so deceiving. Additionally, we aren't even going to play that school for seven days, which is like an eternity in the sports world, so why would anyone be interested in seeing how good of a team they have when we have so much more time between now and when we play them. Then to make things worse, a BYU player gets injured and is now out for the season, and you have these so called Aggie fans offering sympathy for the BYU player on an AGGIE fan board, as if the kid is a human being. It just makes me sick that anyone who even considers themselves to be an Aggie fan could look at a person who attends BYU as someone who has feelings. FYI, I loved that game, and I always love to watch BYU lose! Also, here is a tip, if you don't want to read about a great game that BYU lost, maybe don't click on a thread that has BYU in the subject line.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑December 1st, 2021, 11:27 pmWe're doing it to analyze how good of chance we have of winning the game against them. My suggestion would be, is place everything ybu or stench pinned up in their own sand box.
When the trolls come, their posts can be moved by the Mods into the stench sand box. I'm sorry my thoughts were likely out of line and headed to the crapper if I kept ranting.

My quick take from watching the highlights, Horvath should be able to feast in Provo. Now let’s beat Saint Mary’s!

Re: BYU intrasquad scrimmage
I was about to say no, because I've never watched a BYU game that USU wasn't included in, but I remembered that's not true. During my honeymoon (in Vegas, during the MW tournament), I took some time to watch Gonzaga pound BYU in the WCC tournament championship game.

Re: BYU intrasquad scrimmage
Hopefully our Aggies will note that if UVU can do it, there's no reason we cannot. And to date, Odom has shown he and staff can get USU ready for big games (see Richmond, Myrtle Beach tournament with NMSU, Penn, and University of Oklahoma).
I think if we play our best basketball, and BYU doesn't, we have a chance.

BYU seems to play everyone in Utah unlike the Utes. It is great to see BYU crushed the Ute ego this year.

If BYU is willing to play home and home with UVU, Weber, and USU....
Then why can't Utah ever play home and home with USU again? Tired of their Utah Ute lame excuses.

Re: BYU intrasquad scrimmage
I am pretty sure that the BYU vs UVU agreement is a 2 or 3 for 1, but your point is still valid, and I agree that the Utes should play us every year home and home.Tetonkatest wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2021, 4:17 pmIf BYU is willing to play home and home with UVU, Weber, and USU....

At this point I don't really care about playing Utah. I'd think anyone who really follows basketball in Utah knows they're usually the third best team in the state.

Gideon George was out for BYU’s game today. Wonder if he has covid. He is a big loss for them.

Will need to do play good defense on their guards Barcelona, Johnson (off bench) and Lucas and Aggie guards are going to need to play better. Depending on George status Aggies will have frontcourt advantage

I hate to defend BYU, but that could very well be a Q1 win. Correct me if I’m wrong but the quad victories are based off of RPI, not kenpom. I don’t know how the magic of kenpom works but you can’t convince me that a 4-4 Missouri State (80) who’s best win is Long Beach State should be ranked any near a USU (59) team with wins over NMSU, Oklahoma, and Richmond.
Looking at RPI it makes a lot more sense, Missouri State rings in at 283. USU at 69. SOS 332 and 48 respectively. So today that makes Missouri State a not so solid Quad 3 victory.
After further research MSU is 97 in the net rankings, and quad victories are now based on net rankings not RPI, that changed two seasons ago. So believe it or not it’s a vaunted quad 2…..for now. Wow.
Which is interesting, the only ranking system that doesn’t like them is RPI.

The NET rankings out there right now are from last year. The NCAA hasn't updated yet this year.FL350Aggie wrote:MarioWest wrote: ↑December 4th, 2021, 10:54 pmThat’s a very good question but the computers seem to like Missouri St for some reason.slcagg wrote: ↑December 4th, 2021, 10:45 pmHow? Re: BYU intrasquad scrimmage
I will have to say this for the zoobs. They are the only D1 basketball team that has a minor league club just across town. One thing though, when you play your minor league team, you are supposed to win. This is like Major League 3.
