Conference tourney
Does anyone know if there is a vaccine mandate for the conference tourney? Asking for a friend before I by tickets.

Re: Conference tourney
I am sure there will be. I know UNLV requires proof of vaccination for their games.

Re: Conference tourney
Where did you see that? For football they required masks but not vaccination (even though the Raiders did). Everything else in Nevada right now seems to be masks but no vaccine mandates. I also can't find anything on their website about vaccines being required. I would assume that it's just masks required.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 6:07 amI am sure there will be. EDIT: I take that back. UNLV basketball is requiring vaccines but not masks at this point.

Re: Conference tourney
Any large event in any large city is probably going to have a vaxx/testing requirement. At this point, that's a safe assumption outside of maybe TX and FL.

Re: Conference tourney
Nevada has left it up to organizations on whether or not they want to impose a vaccine mandate on events. Even though UNLV hosts the event, I'm assuming the decision on whether or not vax requirements are needed will be made by MWC and not UNLV (but I could be wrong). If it's up to the MWC, I have a hard time seeing them implementing a vax mandate, whereas UNLV may given they already have one in place. Guess this is a long way of saying I don't think we know right now what they will do.

Re: Conference tourney
UNLV's website seems to indicate that the vax policy is only for Men's and Women's games and in place to not have to require masks. I've gone to multiple other shows in Vegas the past 2 months that have required masks but none have had a vaccine mandate. Most have been pretty strict on the masking though.Aggie702 wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 12:19 pmNevada has left it up to organizations on whether or not they want to impose a vaccine mandate on events. Re: Conference tourney
That has been my experience as well. I've been to Allegiant and no masks, but vaccine requirement. I've been to Chelsea at the cosmo, no vaccine requirement but masks. I saw foo fighters at park MGM and they required vax + masks, lol. Each organization makes their own rules.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 12:39 pmUNLV's website seems to indicate that the vax policy is only for Men's and Women's games and in place to not have to require masks. Re: Conference tourney
Once we’ve learned that vaccinated people, of which I am one, can still spread it, a vaxx mandate doesn’t make much sense.

Re: Conference tourney
It appears that there will not be a vaccine mandate for the tournament but masks will be required. The conference website now says: "All individuals entering Thomas & Mack Center must wear a mask. There will be no vaccination requirement for the 2022 Mountain West Basketball Championships."

Re: Conference tourney
Thanks Provo. With the way the numbers are going they may drop the mask requirement by then too. But wearing a mask is a small price to pay.

Re: Conference tourney
I wouldn't count on it, but I'm hopeful. NV dropped masks last May when the CDC said it was OK. We had a lovely mask free summer. Then in early August they reimposed masks "temporarily" because of delta spike, so we've been masking again since then. I haven't seen any chatter or rumors of them dropping it anytime soon, but i'm hopeful.Coloraggie wrote: ↑February 6th, 2022, 9:19 pmThanks Provo. So while the MWC may be cool with no mask mandate, as long as it's still required in NV the MWC will comply.

Re: Conference tourney
Just a hunch so don't count on it, by time the tourney rolls around NV will have dropped it's indoor mask requirements. Again, that's just a hunch I have no insider info on this.Aggie702 wrote: ↑February 7th, 2022, 10:45 amI wouldn't count on it, but I'm hopeful. NV dropped masks last May when the CDC said it was OK. Re: Conference tourney
Hi everyone, as a media member I received an email today saying that vaccinations will NOT be required but they will require all to wear a face mask at all times while inside the Thomas & Mack Center throughout the tournament. Hope this helps, GO AGGIES!

At all times? So no concessions sold? No vip butlers?
You know the covid doesn't spread when eating or drinking. What a stupid joke!
Prediction, the masks will be gone. I sure hope.

Re: Conference tourney
Nevada governor is expected to lift NV indoor mask mandate at press conference tomorrow. This clears path for no mask at MWC tourney!

The MWC came out and said no proof of vaccines are required to attend and masks are optional!! We’ve come a long way since no fans were allowed last year and I’m here for it!!Coloraggie wrote: ↑January 26th, 2022, 11:54 pmDoes anyone know if there is a vaccine mandate for the conference tourney? Tourney will be crazy. Any of 8 teams could take it. Look for UNLV home court to finally be a factor.

Re: Conference tourney
Just went to a big conference in Florida last week. You had to be masked, Vaxed, test negative, or have a doctors note. The conference I went to in Texas the week before required nothing. I sure preferred the Texas venue over the Florida one. Had a nice rub mark from my mask after the airport and conference time. Can’t wait to be done with it all!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the cost down with parking at the tournament? Is there a pass that I could buy in advance?

Re: Conference tourney
With UNLV playing great and having a chance to lock in a top 5 seed, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them in the final. They are the likely MWC path to 5 teams in if they win the tournament. Wish I could say I felt the Aggies had a chance, but I just don’t see it happening.

Re: Conference tourney
Has anyone that ordered tickets gotten them yet or heard any updates on distribution? With the paper tickets we used to get them at least a month in advance but the first game is a week from today and we haven't heard anything yet.

Re: Conference tourney
I called the USU ticket office this morning and they said they sent the orders to UNLV to be processed a while back. I called UNLV after that and they said that they haven't distributed anything yet. They said their system had to do them all at once and they haven't gotten the orders from a couple of schools yet. They said they have no time frame to send them out. They pointed out that the men's games don't start for over a week and I reminded them that we also paid for women's games that start Sunday. They honestly sound far more incompetent than USU's ticket office. UNLV did confirm they had my order and even told me where my seats would be if they ever get around to sending tickets out.
