Yep. All they do is complain about the crowd and how bad classless they are because there is nothing to do in Logan

As a west coast elite it pains me to admit that Boise is a nice city. That said Logan is 100 times nicer. Sorry Bozo

They might be the lowest IQ fan base in the conference.
They think the sky is falling, and now they’re not going to make the tournament. Kind of hilarious. Just go look at the replies to BJ Rains’ tweets.

Boise is a very nice city. Just silly to say it's not. Great restaurants, bars, activities and a super business city. Hate the broncos, but the city is very nice.

Boise is like a worse Ogden. It’s objectively terrible. And ugly.
I was severely disappointed my first time there.

I know several Californians that are moving to Coeur d'Alene, not Boise. That is a solid choice.

Boise is a great town. The Boise River and surrounds is extraordinary. Boise has skiing nearby. The outback to McCall and to Idaho City. The desert to the south. Cultural diversity. It lies within the “banana belt” of Idaho weather-wise. There is much to recommend it.

Sorry. There is no comparison between Boise and Ogden. Ogden was/is a railroad town. Boise isn’t. There is nothing similar between the culture , nightlife, tech industry, the beauty of the Boise River compared to the Ogden River, and on and on.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑February 10th, 2024, 11:23 pmBoise is like a worse Ogden. I may be in the minority, but I think Ogden has made great strides to improve its image. Yes, it is a railroad town and is rougher around around the edges than most Utah cities, but I like the downtown area. It's quaint, but unique. And Ogden and Weber canyons are great. Nordic Valley and Snow Basin are accessible in about 30 minutes. Eden, Huntsville, and the Pine View Reservoir are beautiful. I used to snowshoe a lot up Ogden Canyon. No crowds, great views, and all of the rest. I'm an Ogden apologist, I guess. Utaggies is correct - it doesn't have the tech industry money that Salt Lake and UtH counties have (and all of the new development that comes with it), but that's okay.

Re: Boise fans tears
I know lots of USU alumni that grew up in Cache Valley and love living in Boise. I can understand a dislike for a rival school but it is slightly surprising that some of my fellow USU fans start ripping on the place I live after USU just beat down BSU. What is the point? Does it make you feel better about yourself or something?

I guess it depends on what you value. If you value access to mountain recreation like I do, then Boise sucks a giant fart when compared to the access you have in Ogden. Running, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, skiing, camping, boating, ATV…..you name it and Ogden trumps Boise with all of those.utaggies wrote: ↑February 10th, 2024, 11:38 pmSorry. Spent a summer in Boise. It's a nice town. I don't particularly want to live there, but it would be way, way higher on my list than the vast majority of similarly sized American cities.

I've traveled all over the country minus a handful of states. Boise is one of the better cities in the country for a city its size. Definitely not a drag on the country such as Oakland or Detroit or Baltimore

Re: Boise fans tears
I agree. Ogden has improved greatly over the last 20 years. The city has invested greatly in enhancing the Ogden River in making it family friendly. The downtown area has changed from being a red-light district and has now come alive with some great restaurants. I love Weber and Ogden Canyons and the Weber River. But the west side is still sketchy and I’m not sure there is much to be done about it.Yossarian wrote: ↑February 10th, 2024, 11:51 pmI may be in the minority, but I think Ogden has made great strides to improve its image. Yes, that west side is tough. When I was living in Kaysville many years ago, Ogden City was offering free housing to any of their police officers to live in that west side of town thinking having their presence would help, but they got no takers. Free housing want enough to get cops to live there.utaggies wrote: ↑February 11th, 2024, 12:54 amI agree. Ogden has improved greatly over the last 20 years. Skiing? No, Bogus Basin is no Snow Basin but it’s as good as Powder Mountain.Slim80 wrote: ↑February 10th, 2024, 11:57 pmI guess it depends on what you value. I was severely disappointed my first time there.
Fishing? The Boise River is wonderful and the Payette River is only a few miles away.
Running and Biking? Ogden has nothing to compare with the length and beauty of the greenbelt along the Boise River.
Kayaking and rafting? The Boise River
Golfing? Boise wins hands down
Camping? Where do you camp near Ogden? Smith-Morehouse?
Boating? Boating above Lucky Peak Reservoir is better than Pine View Reservoir and certainly better than Willard Bay
ATV? You can choose between the South Desert from Boise or the hills to the north of Boise that lead you to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho City, Cougar Mountain Lodge or the Payette River
Night life? Boise in a landslide
Culture? Boise River Festival, Basque Festival, concerts, plays,
Parks? Boise hands-down
Sports? BSU trumps Weber St.
I am a bit biased having been born and raised in Boise. I return with some frequency to visit family. Boise does not disappoint.

I guess Boise is cool if you’ve never been anywhere cool. None of those places are anything to write home about. The skiing is mediocre at best. Not being a frigid wasteland is about all it has going for it lol.utaggies wrote: ↑February 10th, 2024, 11:33 pmBoise is a great town. The Boise River and surrounds is extraordinary. Re: Boise fans tears
Lack of real mountains in close proximity to Boise gives wasatch front cities the win.
Idaho City’s elevation still lower than valley floor in northern Utah, bogus basin base is under 6000 ft and it’s worse than Logan canyon drive to the Beev. I remember camping near Idaho City and even without sleeping bag or covers it was a sweat lodge.
Frank Church beats Unitas, nothing compares to the sawtooths, but that aint Boise. If you’re a mountain man, Ogden wins. If you like rolling hills, beautiful river through town, very nice people (but don’t you dare tell them there’s sports outside of BSU or you miss the mountains), fun cultural events, Boise is a pretty great place. If Sawtooths were closer, it would be amazing.
