Well, at least if Danny goes to Washington, he won’t bring any players with him, right? Right?
Oh.
Oh.

I absolutely hate the timing of this as we’re trying to wrap up the reg season championship and move into the tournaments. Last thing we need is this…….

Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
Hopefully they take Kyle Smith from Wazzup instead. If you read the tweets it sounds like he was given the ultimatum that if he doesn't win the pac-12 championship tournament that he's gone. Which obviously isn't going to happen. Hopefully there is no tampering with the season going on and at least the season can play itself out. Just hope the team is ready for San Jose on Tuesday.

This has probably already been in the works, which might be a reason why our team has been flat. Just a hunch.

He was always destined for bigger and better, yet people tried to convince themselves he could be “the next Stew” lol. Please just get us that elusive tournament W Danny.

Yeah, I bet we would be undefeated and huge RUTS if our coach wasn't desirable.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:34 pmThis has probably already been in the works, which might be a reason why our team has been flat. Just a hunch.

Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
I agree and even if he has, I don’t see sprinkle as the type of guy to mail it in early. I put in notice at my job and I still give 110% until my last day.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:35 pmI would highly doubt Sprinkle has been in contact with teams while the season is going.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:34 pmThis has probably already been in the works, which might be a reason why our team has been flat. If it’s happening make it a done deal but finish off the season like you would if your job depended on it and get us a win or 3 in the tourney.

Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
I don't think a huge amount of this thought he would be a stew but I also thought that he would be here a minimum of two to three years. He obviously still might do that. I certainly hope he gets the Aggies a win in the tournament.Aggiesbleedblue wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:38 pmHe was always destined for bigger and better, yet people tried to convince themselves he could be “the next Stew” lol. Being a feeder school sucks. But it really, really sucks to be a feeder school and have zero tourney wins to show for it.

Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
Well that definitely doesn't sound good. To be honest though if a coach is talking to other teams while the season is currently going on that is pretty low class. I certainly am not saying that Danny is or would do that just saying that is pretty low if it does happen.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:46 pmAhemAggie84025 wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:35 pmI would highly doubt Sprinkle has been in contact with teams while the season is going.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:34 pmThis has probably already been in the works, which might be a reason why our team has been flat. Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
I’m not saying sprinkle has mailed this season in. I’m just saying these rumors hurt the team whether Danny likes it or not. If he’s not squashing them immediately the locker room can sense what’s going on. The players aren’t stupid.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:46 pmAhemAggie84025 wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:35 pmI would highly doubt Sprinkle has been in contact with teams while the season is going.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:34 pmThis has probably already been in the works, which might be a reason why our team has been flat. Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
I would say he's 100% gone. Maybe this is why there hasn't been an offensive set called in about a month. It's a big risk for UW to float this right now but they obviously want to stake their claim.
If this is true, then suspend him for the rest of the season and let one of the assistant coaches lead the way.

Are Danny and Jeff Goodman friends? Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
Goodman had breakfast with Sprinkle when Goodman was in town. Guaranteed they talked about this. Scotty should ask about this on the coaches show on Monday.
By the way, this would be devastating for the program. Not only is he a good coach, but why would players come to USU if coaches leave every year or two?
Also, Danny had to know Washington was going to happen last year. Hopkins has been a dead man walking.

It does suck that we seem to be the only successful MW program that can’t keep a coach.

Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
This is the part you hate being an Aggie basketball fan. It’s a place you can win and people show up for and you have phenomenal home support and we can’t keep coaches and build something special. No one comes calling for Rice, Medvedev, Dutcher etc.bluegrouse wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2024, 4:30 pmI absolutely hate the timing of this as we’re trying to wrap up the reg season championship and move into the tournaments. UW is a terrible basketball school. They stink in the PAC12 and how are they going to compete in Big10?

One thing about Washington, going back to what Ashworth said. They have no shortage of NIL money. Washington offered him the most. I imagine sprinkle likes the idea of having all the NIL money to go buy a team

I’m not well versed in university finances, could UW realistically afford 6.7 million on a basketball head coaching change? https://x.com/larshanson/status/1764075 ... d0OgGmSQeQ

With Washington’s Big 10 money Ive got to think Sprinkle will be offered over $4M/year.
Add in huge NIL money and chartered flights and yes 100% gone.

Wazzu’s coach has basically no buyout and the athletic department is in the red so they can’t match anything.

Every so often you get a Duryea. Can’t always bat 1.000 in coaches. Re: Welp...Sprinkle frontrunner for Washington?
I have high hopes that our AD will be aggressive in retaining sprinkle. I'd rather be losing coaches than firing them, but if we lose three coaches in four seasons, it's obvious that we aren't competing at all in proportion to our program strength.
