Are any of the players saying anything? About the coaching situation? calling on all USU students to find out. When does the team leave?

Team flies out tomorrow. Danny will fly in from Seattle Friday afternoon and meet them in time for the game before flying back out afterward.

I will comment that I went to get my haircut today. The hair cutter said she was a UW fan, and I mentioned that there were rumors that my favorite team's coach was being chased by UW. She then said that one of her regulars is a WSU bball player and came in for a pre-NCAA-tournament haircut, and that he was talking about NIL and Kyle Smith as a candidate at UW. She made it sound like he thought it was fairly likely. Now, whether he was just blowing smoke, I don't know, but he told her that in the current era all the players are going to just follow the NIL money.

an unfortunate reality of coaching in the era of nil and free transfers is a coach is just naturally going to be more willing to leave. It used to be if you had a program really rolling you could be more selective of what opens up. Now your whole team could be gone in the off-season and you don't know what the future holds. If this was 2014 I would think sprinkle would coach the great team he has next year (only one senior), increase his stock and have even more options.

I thought this was turning into a weird, random hands-in-face-at-the-Maverik type of story, but knowing the somber nature of jpswensen, this is interesting. I’d love to see the zoobs get the rug pulled out from under them though.

I'm a little disappointed as well that there was no opening and closing of a hand in someone's face to end the story.

Why would he want to coach for his alma mater, get a pay raise, live in Seattle, access Big 10 resources, etc., when he could coach in Provo? End sarcasm. It actually makes a lot of sense for him to leave. He's been there for several years; he's had success. If I'm him, I'd leave yesterday.

now that I'm thinking about it, while in Vegas my group did run into UW bball players at the taco bell cantina on the strip. they were keeping to themselves but I did hear Danny Sprinkle's name like once or twice, but with no context. I kinda regret not asking them more about it when I had the chance

and my favorite flavor was already mint oreo BEFORE coming up to Logan, so Aggie blue mint is just perfect

I didn't stay around long. Honestly I don't know why Sprinkle (or anybody) would want to coach those punks. I went to grab a mild sauce packet for my daughter at the same time one of their guys (clearly a walk-on) was grabbing napkins. He was pulling them out like a magician pulling handkerchiefs out of his mouth. I said hey not to be a jerk but you're making a mess--some kid is going to have to clean up. He started throwing them into the air and laughing as they floated down, saying "some kid will have to clean them" in a fake crying voice. I said seriously guy you're being a jerk and he just kept saying "like this like this" waving napkins in my face.

Didn't notice until it was too late that I had accidentally grabbed a medium spice sauce packet for my daughter and she ended up in quick care.
